I searched a bit and i see a few builds but i have not really seen something that showed from a n00b lvl how to break down the points at the start?

I am almost lvl 12 and about to get my first AA. What should i concentrate say the first 10 or 15 points i get one as a solo wizzy?

Should i waste much money upgrading my spells at lower lvls?

Thank you for the help.

don't blow cash on spells, you'll outlevel them too fast.As for AAs, start in the EoF tree and work on things like magi's shielding and rending icicles. Those will serve you best early on.

What does raising Magi's do for you? I am a bit confused by that. How many points should i go before moving on to something else?

So EoF tree before AGI or WIS line?

luckely we can change our AAs pretty regularly now, so don't worry if you screw it up. at the lower lvls I would focus on the wizard tree instead of the sorcerer tree. Since you say you solo a lot, go for manaburn. Have fun with it and get the big nukes out of your system, so when you get higher up you can change to fire and ice. After you get manaburn start down the Agi or Str line (I prefer Agi). when you get that done move all the points in your power line over to wis (it sure is nice that they let us move points between trees now). Then start working on fire and ice. As far as the spells go, I would adept 1 them, but don't go trying to master them...it's not worth the plat till you get in the 60s

I focused on manaburn. did a couple low lev hq's, darklight woods quests, some collection and exploration. Had manaburn at 28. Wonderful spell. only does half lp damage, but i can take heroics alot easier now, mainly because i only have to get them below half, manaburn and they dead. prob gonna go int to freehand now, then wis line.

I went 10 into Magi Shielding, then 3 in amplification, and on in accord so far with 1 in famaliar.

Is manaburn really going to be that helpful while soloing or should i respec and maybe go down the WIS or AGI line first then get 5 or so into magi shielding then finish the other line before getting into the power line to get manaburn?

Remember Manaburn takes 1/2 the hp away.

Manaburn when soloing a heroic can be a godsend. Root, Ball if Whatever, Plasma whatever, Then the Blazing intimidation ( or whichever you have with the stun) , Root again , Manaburn and he dead. That works on heroics usually too. Unless resisted then your toast )

For Groups its useful too, let the tank get agro, ball of fire, then manaburn. Take down harder mobs alot easier. Just make sure the tank has agro. You may needa cast an agro reducing spell or 2 after that if he not dead. And its great to see the parse afterwards.

Ok nub question, with manaburn it turns x amount of mana to dmg right?

It drains your mana to zero then right? If so while in groups if using much you would have a lot more downtime?

Manaburn is not something you will use often. It has a long reuse timer and, yes, it does knock you to zero mana. It is great in an emergency like when you are soloing and realize you have to do something quick or die. Occasionally in a group you will hit that situation where you have time to cast 1 spell and will probably draw agro with that spell so what do you do? Throw out manaburn and save the day. You will probably find when you get to the 60+ lvls, that what you really want is to have a higher constant dependable dps. It is at that time, that you respec and do away with manaburn.

Level 32 now, and moving along pretty well.I like the wizard class a lot so far.I respec'd out of having 10 pts into magi shield, and into the AGI line first. I have 21 AA, so i still need 3 more i think to finish that tree. Not sure if i am going to go wisdom next or maybe a few pts back into Magi shield, i don't see the usefulness of Manaburn yet leveling up, i have a lot of mana and have been doing great DPS, i think i would end up with a lot more downtime with the investment to get it.
