Unable to create D3D device for [NVidia Card]I was getting this error for a while and searched and searched the forums and finally ran across a quick and simple solution that I wanted to share (can't remember who wrote the answer but thanks!) The problem stems from having had a previous screen resolution that was out of range for my new video card. So...Load EQ2 like normal and when it's done checking for and updating files... instead of hitting Play, choose Preferences - then from that window, choose Game Options. Then choose the Settings Tab, click the pull down for Screen Resolution - choose a resolution - hit the X at the top right of the window to eXit. Then choose Save or Cancel from the previous window and hit PLAY.This won't work for everyone's problems, but it sure as heck worked for mine.  Wow, a problem with an answer on the support forums??? That's just insane.

I had this issue awhile back and posted a similar solution. However, I simply suggested running the EQ2Settings.exe file prior to running the patcher whenever you change desktop resolutions. This will allow you to adjust your in-game resolution without having to go through the patcher, which tends to be a bit more stable of an option. A long time ago, changing Options via the Patcher would cause certain issues once you entered the game so I've just avoided that all together since then. That might not be the case now a days but I like to play it safe just in case.And thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Any and all help is highly appreciated.
