Im still doing the math on this, but Im estimating roughly at this that the difference between a hardcore endgame raider (top 1%) and non-raider (assuming he/she is in full legendary gear with purchased items such as vine boots) is less than 12% in terms of hitpoints and DPS. I was somewhat shocked in doing the math that such a massive difference in effort (assuming the hardcore raider guild raids 5-6days/week for 4 hours a pop and the non-raider does ~2 group instances/runs per week) has such little gain in terms of gameplay.

Before I sit down with some scratch paper and finish this, has anyone done this calculation before?

My initial assumptions were toon #1 has max items for each slot from here:

o Breath of the Destroyer - Tarinax the Destroyer : Deathtoll

o Cloak of Woven Silk - Harbringer of Absolution

o Robe of Al'Kabor - Any Avatar

o Cowl of the Crypt - Treyloth : FTH.

o Insulated Sleeves of Focus - Clockwork Menace Factory

o Gloves of Sagacity - Trash : FTH

o Bone-Clasped Girdle - Draco Mortuus vos Liberatio : Heritage Quest

o Pantaloons of Spirit Siphoning - Wuoshi : The Emerald Halls

o Vine-Wrapped Boots - Crafted EH Recipe

o Dark Wand of the Chosen - Contested Mayong : Castle Mistmoore

o Necromantic Orb of the Death Reveler - Empowered...x2 : Forsaken City

o Dark Orb of the Mind - Contested Mayong : Castle Mistmoore

o Necklace of Pain - Any Avatar

o Hoop of Unkempt Power - Any Avatar

o Mystical Orb of the Invoker - Mystical Orbs Collection Quest

o Band of Braided Veins - FTH

o Ring of Supremacy - Fitzpitzle : Deathtoll (Situational) Ring of four Winds

o Vzee'rist's Sash of Draining - Vzee'Rist ... : Nizara, City of the Nayad

while toon#2 has full EoF legendary + any 1 group content (including all the Nizara gear) attainable items and the Vine boots off the broker.

Thanks.

There's also racial choices, AA's and adornment choices to take into account. Just because player A has all the uber gear possible doesn't mean they'll be top of everything, however when you compare damage capability I'm sure the gear choices will show.

For the sake of this comparison, assume adornments, AA choices and race are identical as none of those are specific to the hardcore raider. Also assume both have full master spells with the optimal spell casting order.

Sab- thanks for the input. Would the new Amulet of Necropotence essentially be THE neck item in game then (+100 Spell DMG + 25 neck adornment=125SD vs. Neck of Pain for example)?
