So here's a fun little problem I've been having. It's happened about 4 times now and I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. Basically at seemingly random intervals (has happened in high graphically intensive areas, and while tradeskilling where my computer has barely had to work at all) it seems as though my internet connection just drops out. EQ2 will sit there basically like it would if I was going linkdead, however if I check another window I no longer have an internet connection (can't pull up anything over IE, AIM, or anything). THe problem gets even stranger because I can't close any windows either, I can't exit EQ2 or even pull up Task Manager. I can't even restart my computer, it just thinks for a second and then gives up, and I have absolutely no clue whats going on. I can play Bioshock and Battlefield 2142 for hours on end with no problems, and download large files without my internet connection going, so I have no idea what could be causing it. The only solution that works is to hard reset my computer and boot it back up, then in most cases my internet connection is back (or after a good disabling and renabling of the network device). I've been playing EQ2 on and off for a good 3 years and just came back after a year break to find this happening, and can't seem to find any reason for it. I have no programs running in the background (half the time not even explorer.exe and my anti-virus). Have scanned for viruses and spyware, chkdsk, scan disk, and the hard drive my OS is only a little over a month old and has showed no signs of struggling with Bioshock. If anyone has ever experienced anything like this, I would love a little more information on how to keep this from happening, as having to hard reset my computer can't be good for it. The following is my DXDiag print out.

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 10/4/2007, 09:33:14 Machine name: ROBERT-O28EHC3H Operating System: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790) Service Pack 2 (3790.srv03_sp2_gdr.070321-2337) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: 939M2 System Model: 939Dual-SATA2 BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+, ~2.4GHz Memory: 2048MB RAM Page File: 400MB used, 4590MB available Windows Dir: C:WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.3790.3959 32bit Unicode

------------DxDiag Notes------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
