OOC:

Defilers work very well (as I imagine would Mystics) because with the Bruiser's high avoidance, the wards last a very long time.

IC:

"Shgurk smart. He ward 'Meillio for long time while 'Mellio smash, and he don't get in the way while 'Meillio eats the spleens, except for sometimes when Shgurk eats the spleens, but then 'Meillio eats the squishy bits. Shgurk smart" ~Imeillio

Fury is great. Fury is not just healing but very nice in dps. I have tried to duo with mystic as well, but it took longer to kill mobs.
Yeah, I'd go for a Fury or an Inquisitor. Both are fun to duo with. If I was in a full group, tanking an endgame instance, then a defiler or mystic would be my healer of choice. But when duoing, you really want to be partnered with someone who can hold their own in DPS. And shaman, bless their hearts, can't really do that.

Shaman are the best at keeping you alive. You can take on almost anything with a good defiler. But I have been working with a Templar lately. I don't know at what level they get the spell, but they have this spell, it's like constant Stone Deaf. He had it on me as I took a group through the Halls of Fate, and it took tens of thousands of points of damage. It was incerdible. I believe Dirges have something similar, too.

Rogues are the bomb to duo with, you don't need a healer!

Melee wardens are great too : Spores (auto heal when you get hit), spirit of the bat for power regen, 45% sow when you need to train, primal instinct (+65 crush/slash/pierce skills) mean that you can stay in def stance and still be able to hit mobs without problems, great healing power overall and their melee line give them some good dps.(link)

I'd also say defiler as the best healer to duo with.

Have tried all healers regularly

Plate healers are a no go for avoidance fighters so forget the melee buffs from Inq's because you don't live long enough.

Defliers/Mystics can't dps to save them selves but they do have pet pulls which can help and it's nice to fight for a long time and never see your health bar move. Only problem is when u get into the real heavy fighting where u have a lot of high lvl mobs all over you ( and you do right cause you're a Bruiser) it's too hard for a warding healer to catch you up due to the slow heals.

The number one duo healer for a Bruiser is a Fury. Not only can they keep you up while your surrounded by mobs but there buffs are great for us and they can dps like a mage. Agitate and Spineskin are great buffs for any tank.

Get a fury! My baby defiler doesn't do so well duoing with brawler as my fury did at that level. And now at 70, I regularly duo with my husband's monk with little to no problems. Except for when he gets the agro-itch and pulls the whole zone to watch me do call of storms and ring of fire. Our level 50ish bruisers often trio or duo with furies and I wouldn't have it any other way as furies seem best suited to our class.

I'm sure at a higher level the defiler will have an easier time of it, but we get so much done in such a small amount of time now I can't imagine a different type of healer with a brawler. My husband has also stated that he finds duoing with furies on his monk much easier than with defilers and other healers (not to say that they are poor healers either, he has attempted to duo with some excellent defilers, etc.) If you duo with a fury you will not regret it...and you will look cool and get all the girls.
