WIS/AGL

Not sure what the maximum "dps" tree is for rogue... but style is almost required for a raiding swashy... and most people go for reach or poison but I suspect debuff would be better dps-wise.

So is WIS/AGI the winner out of the WIS/STR and WIS/AGI debate? If so how much more dps does it give. I would hate to loose swipe which IIRC is on the STR tree.

You know, there's weapons in the game that would benefit more from a ~15% chance to crit than a ~15% chance to pirate stab. I used agi/wis for a while and the dps was better than str/wis when I still had alot of KoS gear and a mediocre weapon (shard). Still using chel'drak's shard right now and I parse better with str/wis. I suspect dps will increase substantially when I 1h the soulfire sabre.

well, from personal experience...best set up i have found for best dps and utility is STR+WIS and Style+Reach. just my experience, i am sure others will argue...but with style you enhance your long reuse timer buffs, increasing dps, and with reach my AOE's and regular melee attacks hit from further away, so when raiding if someone peels the mob i am running around less.

P.S. Master 1 Hurricane+Reach Line=secksey parses

How much larger is the dps parse with STR/WIS than STR/AGI? I did a very short respec to STR/WIS to see what it would do to my stats and, due to an empty off hand, I lost str, sta, agi, health, power and what concerned me most, attack. Doesn't a lower attack hurt your hitting chances?

And you don't get the advantages of Lunge Reversal unless you are the target of attack, which shouldn't be happening during raiding.

The only reason I ask these question, I think the concept of the WIS line is very neat, but I just have a hard time justifying the loss of so many stats.

Laer

hrm, well, i lost 200 DPS raidwide after changes by going to DW spec...not per encounter, a raid wide zone parse from hours of fighting...and yes, it was with the same raid force in the same zone.

again, its all about the gear you have and your play style. with my gear and my play style, WIS/STR is the best I have found. if you have two nice weapons lying around, pick up your respec achivement cards for free from the trainer, and try it and see if it works for you.

p.s. i have had other swashies in other guilds try DW vs single wield, and they had similar results to mine or worse...also, no matter if you go DW or WIS, keep in mind that Reach and Style lines are still good choices for the swashy tree if you are aiming for DPS.

Well, I'm only lvl 50, so this is just an impression so far, but i think this maybe helps out others which aren't yet in T7.

before GU I was specced str/wis and very much satisfied with that. problem in lower tiers was, you cannot find good DW-weapons with normal grouping/via broker...but there are some really nice one-hand weapons with good DR, so DPS got an increase on this spec

but problem in lower tiers is, lunge reversal does not trigger off very often since mobs do not parry etc very much in lower content (assuming you are normally grouping)... i parsed my runs all the way long, but LR never ever got beyond 2-4% of my zonewide... but this was not an issue, the doubleattack-bonus gave me enough with the good weapon

now, i can still hold this weapon along with another one, where DR-rating stays almost equal (at least in this tier), so actually you almost double your autoattack..and this time its not procced (as it is in wis-line)

so....until you hit 70 i'd definately choose DW (STR-AGI) over onehand (STR/WIS or AGI/WIS), i at least got a massive increase on my respec

according to other users/posts this will change with endgame-content, because mobs will much more often parry/block or riposte, especially raidmobs, which are much more skillful than grp-content

but even grp-content will then very often con yellow/orange to you, so its harder to hit em and lungreversal procs off much more or you just HIT the mob due to the weaponskill-increase you get in wis-line

so for endgame i think wis-line will be still better, at least with a neat weapon such fabled sod-reward

now, the second line, agi or str, i will have to parse on my own then...think this is very individual, depending on the gear you wear

Couple of questions:

I raid causually, and currently specced Str/Agi, DW Absolution, and Windrazor, level 70 with a mix of Master I's, and Adept III's. I have some relic, (sadly, not legs or chest), and the odd piece of fabled armor from Courts, (which still beats my xegonite MC stuff), and a few other fabled odds and ends from both KoS, and EoF. I parse at around 1200 - 1300, and can hit as high as 2k. Swash tree is specced potency/reach atm...and I'm considering respeccing that style/reach. Would it make much sense now to also respec rogue achievments, and go str/wis, (and putting away Absolution, in favor of Windrazor, which has a proc effect)? I would very much like to pick up another 200 or 300 in dps in the short term, with the equipment I have now, (if possible)...but my ability to play around with the numbers is limited, because of the finite amount of respecs on my card.

As far as weapons go, is windrazor a good choice? The proc, (Whirling Blades, 1.8 times per minute, 10 second duration), is listed as a limited pet, to aid the caster. No mention of any damage, and I'm not finding any additional information on this weapon at either Allakhazam, or eq2.wikia. Would it make sense to forego a non-damage proc fabled weapon, and take a small hit in weapon quality to swap out with a legendary weapon with a known damage proc? Will it proc on double attacks at all?

Thanks in advance for any help, ideas, tips, etc.

Once RoK comes out you can just do STR/WIS/AGI or maybe (unconfirmed on this one) STR/WIS/STA
