I'll check, give me a few mins

I don't actually play a melee mystic (i'm a raid debuffer/healer) so I will have to respec.

Dogdog (lovingly known as Kenny) is still vvv.

I can't tell if any effect is on Kenny directly. On the casting icon, it says "Increases hitpoints and DPS of the pet by 20%. Also increases the attributes and crushing skill of the pet".

I can not, however, tell how many HPs he currently has, nor do i know how many he used to have. Maybe there is another mystic on test (I know of one other who had been active, and was a melee mystic, but not sure if she ever hit 70..) who can check into more detail. I didn't use Kenny for much of anything other then for granting buffs.

Sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

That description (Eroneous as it is) is the same on the live servers atm.Btw, a 20% increase in hit points would amount to .2 hit points over what he currently has.Gah...

Why is this only a Mystic change? I thought the spirit companion is in the "Shaman" AA line. /boggle

The dog itself is from the shaman tree. But the aa choice that grants this increase in effectiveness is from the mystic tree.

I got it by activating the Muktuk Veil Mask (from the quest in Somborn Village called Entering the Veil given by Ihriel) that turns you into a Veil Hunter minion. With Rover up however, it caused me to possess my pet instead.

If I still have the quest item then I could try it again and compare the stats. I do know that Dogdog by class is a berserker! Has anyone else tried this? If so can you screenshot and post the stats (along with your AA build)? That would show the difference (if any).

Find a dueling parter. And turn on ACT.

Fight them with and without the AA buff.

first: just have them autoattack the pet down, will show about how many HPs it has

Second: have them just stand there and you have the dog attack them (in the back) ACT will let you see if hit rate is increasing (+crush) as well as DPS mod is working (hits are hitting for more).

On the Mystic tree?Which line then?I must be blind as I could not tell which one this is on live... Thought it would be the Strength line for lack of better info (aye, I have been slacking).I have a Defiler on Test, otherwise I would look myself, later I will recheck the tree on Arbreth.

The level 70 wolf( or dogdog as you guys call it for some strange reason ) with no group buffs on it has 1,433 hitpoints on my machine. That is over twice the amount of hit points it has now.

The term dogdog comes from the days of yore when there was no mystic and defiler... Just shaman. Back then the nickname for the adorable tagalong shaman got was dogdog. The name has stuck and carried between games....

If you ever give any druids a bear pet again, just wait till you hear those names <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

Edit in: Hey could be worse, we could refer to him as one of the other common names for him, "Kenny" which is homage to the South Park character of the same name for how he constantly meets with a grizly demise.

"twentyhitpoints" then since its a wopping 100% increase lol. Really though im not overly in need of dogdog to have more HP or survivability. Im just interested in upping his chance to hit and DPS. I get that we aren't a pet class so we dont need a tank pet, but there is no point to even having the pet out now as being vvv means he doesn't hit for beans if he can even hit at all.I would be happy if they took the 100% HP back and gave us a 100% DPS increase and a big boost to his weapon skill. Also does the wolf USE crush skill? I mean big fangs just dont seem to say crush to me hehe.

Last night I kept my melee spec for our dungon crawls (to much dismay of the rest of my guild..hehe) and checked out how much damage dogdog was doing. He seemed to hit harder then before, however keep in mind that i usually just toss him in for his ward and AOE immunity proc, and don't typically pay attention to the dps on him. He does seem to be doing more then before, so I would guess it's working.

However, my husband came and sat next to me last night during Top Chef and kindly let me know i needed to respec out of melee. Bah, I need to copy my Mystic over at some point and test this. I really am not all that concerned with his health but more with his ability to hit hard content. That's my issue.

Buff dogdog and send him in after the mob and as soon as he gets noticed recall him till he gets in range of your friends taunts. As long as the mob doesn't deplete the ward dogdog will live.
