I have a few random necro questions about my necro...(pvp necro)

1.) Do the adornments, plus 20 heal spell neck adornment for example, apply to our lifetaps? I tried and saw no difference.

2.)How well does the enhanced fear aa's work for pvp? Does it work less as the levels increase, i.e. work better at lvl 35 but at 70 probably makes no difference? After I finish out parry and crit on the str line I plan on spending it into fear considering it is hit and miss how long it works currently in pvp. If the fear lasts longer than 4 seconds I always win, but sometimes when it breaks after a second, I'm screwed against monks or scouts.

3.) Do other necros have problems with mystics? This is the only class that seems to beat me.

I had other questions I forgot...doh

Thanks for your thoughts

No. There is no way to increase the heals on your lifetaps reliably. There are only three things that will do it at all. Firstly, upgrade your spells. Masters will heal more than adepts. Secondly AAs. I'm not 100%, but I think there were some AAs in the EoF tree which will increase the lifetap amounts. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thirdly, spell crits. If the spell crits, then the heal will crit. Note: Heal crits do not work.

3. Mystics *generally* have high noxious resists due to their buffs. They can also spec for melee DPS... and they hurt. Best way to kill them that I can think of is to root, send in all your pets, stack DoTs, then RUN. Don't let them get into melee range. If you can get the pigs, undead tide, and (preferably) your mage pet onto them, they should go down pretty fast.

General pointers: Always run around with the skeleton illusion on. Makes it harder to target you when you're just another skelton in the hoard. Use your feign death to drop target. Once a pet hits them, they'll be targetting the pet and you can go back to nuking. Get the wand out of the Vault of the Fallen. It's a level 25 item, but the clicky-snare will work on level 70s. It is also unbreakable (NOT uncureable) so it wont break after 2 seconds of DoT ticks. The crafted wands will give you a power-free nuke that you can cast while running. It has an abysmally long casting time (8 seconds) but it's power-free and will allow you to kill runners. Preceptor's Command (AP) will let your pet taunt once ever 10 seconds. It has an EXTREMELY low resist rate and will LOCK their target to the pet for 2 seconds. Always carry root/fear immunity and cure potions and stun/stiffle immunity potions. Always have butterfly totems and see-invis on. Make a hotkey for target previous PvP, and another one for target next hostile PvP. Spam the target next PvP button when you're looking for PvP. It will often give you a target before you render them and will save your [Removed for Content] from scouts alot.

Expect to die. Even the best player will lose some fights. You're playing on PvP, death is a fact of life.

The life tap line is not affected by AA's at all. The rotting line does increase the rate at which our dots do damage so you can cast them more often. If you have lich or archlich up then you will get a small lifetap off of those dot spells when lich/archlich procs. So, other than crits you can't do much to help the lifetap spell line in terms of heals. Now, +dmg items will increase the dmg done but there is no corresponding increase to the heals.

Consumption is a nice ability where the pet can lifetap and give part of that health to you. That can be increased by AA's (Pacts line).
