View Full Version : LON Cards
I was just wondering what other people would think of getting a LoN booster pack or starter deck as a very random reward for a tradeskill writ. Since I like to craft more than adventure I feel like I am missing out on the chance for the booster drops. Would there be any interest in this at all, or is it just me?

Ya I do think its a bit unfair for those players who primarily craft. Would be nice if they added this.

It very easy for someone to set up a bot to just craft constantly. And it is not that hard to get the bot to make sure they use the correct spells.. So it would give botter another revenue stream .
I really don't think it would be worth it for a botter to pump out writs for a 1 in 100 or even 1 in 200 chance of a booster pack. The time it would take to gather the materials would keep them from doing it.

And it's not like they don't already have botters doing nothing but harvesting either, or ones that clear an area, then harvest it bare before it repops. Guess in my mind, even if it's almost absurdly rare, if there's a way for a botter to exploit it to earn more plat, he'll do it. This is a group of people willing to have 2 or 3 guys on the same account, literally playing constantly, their only real breaks that I can see is when the servers are pulled down for maintance. (Tuesday the 25th 14 hour pulldown must have been like a holiday..that or the bot companys just made them play WoW that day).

Anyway, I'd like to see some reward for more pure crafters too. We finally have a developer with Domino who might consider such too. But well, again if it can be exploited for coin, a botter will do it. If this means we shouldn't have an occasional LoN deck pop up, or if we should just accept that they will exploit it regardless and live with it, I don't know.

As an aside, I haven't been playing nearly as much, but I have yet to see a LoN deck pop as loot. Even this weekend, when they claim the chance is a bit more common for one to pop. I'm guessing they are a lot less common then even masters from writ mobs...those I do get once in a blue moon, last one was semi-recent, if 2 months ago counts for that.

Even if they were programmed to go to the broker to buy whatever they need, eventually they will run out of people selling that item.

** IF ** there were better TS type rewards for LoN .. maybe. But, meh. Is there really that much to interest a pure crafter? I wonder if the Box Illusion works while crafting ..

As it is right now even the Adventure side of this coin isn't all that great; so think about how freaking rare the Crafter LoN Cards would be .. ye gods!

However, remember this game is for both EQ1 & EQ2 so there would have to be another way for EQ1 players to receive their Cards via Crafting as well and Crafting in EQ1 is alot like going to the Dentist for a complete overhaul .. costly and painful ..

It is much much hardder to equip and go out and adventure than it is to craft. Crafting is only time consuming while adventuring takes some skill. Plus, the only item i see that drop out of booster cards are the exp potions. That would help a crafter.

Not in favor of this. In my opinion, anything you get from crafting should relate to crafting and the LoN boosters/starters etc should stay with Mob drops.
