<span class="postbody">Hello, I am new to this game with my only character being a level 28 conjuror but I am not really enjoying the pet classes and I am looking at either the defiler or inquisitor. Only problem is I am not sure what the difference is between them really with my limited game experience. They both seem like they heal and debuff. I was hoping someone could enlighten me a little on their differences so I can hopefully pick a character I will stick with and enjoy. I enjoy debuffing and healing keeps you on your toes and while dps would be nice it is not a deal killer for me. Any help would be appreciated thanks <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" /></span>

There are 6 healer classes in the game.  All have the ability to simply heal directly, cure, resurrect, and give the group underwater breathing. The difference between them is how their specialty heals work and what they contribute other than healing. The clerics (templar/inquisitor) have reactive heals...the target is healed by some amount every time it takes damage.  The shamans (mystic/defiler) have wards, which in effect heal the damage before it happens. The druids (warden/fury) have heals over time.  Shamans are very good at debuffing, as are inquisitors.  Templars focus more on temporary buffs. Druids get teleportation spells, and can do good dps.Inq, mystic, and warden can be focused on melee (achievement lines that convert spells to combat arts). This helps a lot when soloing, and can be helpful in some groups.

Ok.. i have both a 70 defiler and a 70 Inquisitor...I use the defiler as a kind of "power healer". She is spec'ed for prime raid healing, which means she compromises in DPS (AKA.. i can't solo on her =P) Shamans (Defiler/Mystic) Are known for their ability to ward and keep a group up under big attacks. They have great debuffs as well as pretty useful group buffs. Overall shes my favorite to raid with. The Inquisitor, however, I have spec'ed for DPS. He can do a very large amount of melee DPS and a bit of spell as well. Their heals are reactive.. so when something gets hit.. it heals them back up automatically. Which is nice, but not nearly ad effective as warding with a defiler. The Inq is a lot of fun.. but sometimes i forget I'm a healer on him =PBoth are fun classes in their own way, i notice Inq was a lot easier to level up with out a group though.
