hiya... i was just wondering about templars. my gf plays an inquis and i was looking to start a cleric when RoK comes out. my question is... what exactly does a templar bring to the table? last time i tried one i got to lvl 11 and didnt see anything really worth while in the templar AA tree, and inquis seem to have more utility and versatility. my original reason for wanting a templar was for RP reasons, they are more in line with the clerics in EQ1 that i could recreate the cleric in EQ1 with a backstory in EQ2 lol. any info is appreciated.

Not sure what you are looking for exactly.

I guess if you are asking what does a Templar bring to table... it depends on what circumstance you looking at.... solo... grouping... or Raiding...

the class will play different in each of thses roles... you would also spec your AA's different depending on the role. Gimme some more info and I'll try to answer your question!

Cheers,

Moori

You'll have to be a little more specific if you want details, but just spewing some of the things off the top of my head -

Defensive healer par excellence, huge HP buffs, reactive heals, mitigation buffs, arcane ward, vs. undead!, stun, pacify, several lotto proc heal/cure buff/debuffs, Blessings rocks(in the EOF templar tree)

There's more, but honestly, there should be a ton of information on all of this already on the boards.

i would search for info but if it is not on the first page i do not turst older info as sony likes to change things at a whim, we all know this. atm i am playing a dummy templar to see how i like it for when RoK comes out and i make a sarnak. my gf plays a guardian with me. all i know is at lvl 6 templar is one slow killer lol. i was gonna solo to lvl up for a bit and the mere thought of how long it would take me versus my other toons really dragged me down. i know templar DPS isn't the greatest, nor should it be, so for solo i would expect i would have to go down the int line for spell haste and crits, and either sta or wis for some damage? as far as the templar AAs i didnt see anything beneficial to lvling, mostly because i do not know how reliable the spells are etc.im mostly looking at what a templar brings to a group - buffs and heals like every other priest but what else?

Not sure what to say to be honest but ...

Templars are defensive healers that go best with plate tanks. And if a templar can't keep a group with a plate tank alive no other class can either.Templars bring heals and defensives to a group and the heavy armour and the big resist make them hard to kill.On the other hand they are slow and don't bring much utilities to the group. I feel the templar shine the most when the fights are really hard. But below level 20 the difference between the classes doesn't really show./Hugs Tash
