Hi again

First off, many thanks for previous advice, its making my integration back into the game so much better and im really enjoying myself

Now i've earned some of these AA points (12 - woo!) and im level 18

I put a point into Shapeshifting (druid) and then i've been a bit of a muppet and put points into stuff in the animalism part of the fury tree pretty much slap dash and no thought

I've got 4 in natural mask, 5 in peerless predator and 1 in savagery and 1 unspent.

Now i'm looking at what ive gotten since then and nothing appears to have happened to my character since shapeshift.

The 4 in natural mask doesnt seem to make a difference (that i can see), but im still on apprentice 1 of the spell, not entirely sure what the 5 points in peerless predator did or even savagery.

I'm guessing that these points only 'activate' when i gain the appropriate level to use that particular spell?

So in short, have I made a balls up ?

Not at all.Certainly with only App1 skills you will see minimal improvements, but they are there. Most AAs in the Fury tree are %based...so if your app1 skill has a low value anyway, and %age increase will be tiny.Peerless Predator AA increases runspeed and falling damage reduction..you'll see this immediately.Natural Mask AA will increase in combat health regen by a %age. It's not really all that useful imo for grouping and soloing.Savegery AA will increase the proc change of the spell. Not noticable probably with only 1 AA, but when maxed it means the proc will be active most of the time if you're auto attacking a lot.Again, your app1 spells are the main reason why your AAs seem like they arent doing anything. A percentage of a small number is an even smaller number Obviously as you level and your spell lines upgrade, the overall effect of the AAs will increase too.

At that point when you cast it, you will find you now have 35% in runspeed. Nice to have when questing in a big area like Commonlands or Antonica.

The real key to the Animalism line is the end ability (Animal Form). The rest is, relatively speaking, less dramatic in the effects that you will see (with the exception of runspeed, which is nice). However, I do get the savagery proc quite often with 5 points in that ability.

Animal Form will change the whole game though. You should use it every time its up (1-minute recast delay), and when its active you should kill everything you can with it. Stuff goes down quick and you want to get the most of your 1 minute . Just be sure and cancel it as soon as you have run out of stuff to kill or you need to heal so that the recast timer can start up.

I think the best place for you to put your AA in at this point if you dont have enough to gain Animal form would be your Dots.Hopefully you have your free respec on your aa window still available. You can also go to your local mage guild and hail the achievement advisor to gain a free 5 charge respec card.

Ya you can always reset your aa points. We call it a respec. So I would focus as many AA's into your run speed as possible. Then start working on your auto rez (rebirth).

Rebirth is garbage. I wouldn't even think about putting points in the WIS line, let alone wasting them on Rebirth. Nine times out of ten it's a great way to die twice in a row.I would spend one point in the KoS tree to get Shapeshift for the crits, eight points in Animalism to max out Predator, and then start filling out the Energy line, starting with your DoTs.
