Now that EQ2 is approaching three years old, tier 8 is soon to be added, and we have a really awesome(tm) tradeskill dev... I feel it's time to ask a question of great importance..Why are woodworker crafted arrows named for the metal instead of the wood?I realize that the tip of an arrow is made of metal, but it seems much more logical (to me) to name the arrow for the shaft material, since it constitutes the bulk majority of the product, and (in real archery) is more important than the composition of the tip. Saying that I'm using an indium arrow makes me think the whole thing is made of metal. I'd much rather shoot sandalwood arrows.

Of far greater concern to me is whether t8 arrows will indeed be t8, or if they will continue to ignore the issue of player crafted arrows being three levels UNDER tier.

I believe this restriction should be lifted slightly so that you can use ammo 8 levels below your bow with no penalty. In other words, a tier 7 bow at level 70 could use the new tier 7 player made ammo (62) without penalty. If you tried to use tier 7 vendor ammo (60) you would have a slight penalty if your bow was 70, although a level 68 bow would not suffer (except for the fact that vendor ammo would be inferior anyway). Try and use a previous tier ammo to save money, and your DPS would really suffer (this is a good thing !)Although given the current apparent attitude from community and devs towards Rangers, I'd expect all these requests to just be ignored. Actually, I'm not being very fair am I ? What they'll probably just nerf all arrows back to level 1 instead....

Please don't hijack my tongue-in-cheek thread. We have plenty of posts already about that issue. This thread is meant to deal entirely with the cosmetic issue of wooden arrows being described as being made of metal

If we're going for esthetics, the primary component is the metal. I'd think the arrowhead makeup is a perfectly good thing to name the arrow after. And Sandalwood Arrow sounds... wimpy to me. Like something you'd give to your kid to play cowboys and indians with.
