I'd like to know if anyone made an analysis of the DPS gain of having a wizard in a raid in either :a) Scout group with Phoenixblade for fire procs damage to the scouts (with a dirge increasing proc rate)b) Mage group with FG+IS combo (5aa and FG M2)Keep in mind personal DPS is not relevant, goal is to achieve overall MAX raid DPSI'd be inclined to think mage group would win hands down, but can be proved wrong, or achieved DPS might be very comparable...What would be the ideal group setups to achieve max DPS in either scenarios ?

B is far far greater.

if you pop a troub and an illusionist into a mostly wizzy group in the raid, yes that will maximize dps more than the scout group you mentioned in a. otherwise, i would tend to think it would be comparible, depending on the scout group makeup.

there's a huge difference between the 2, phoenixblade is a minor proc, IS+FG is huge.. check act and see how much it actually adds for the whole grp

PB will do a max of 6,000 damage per minute assuming it proced constantly the entire fight. FG/IS will do way more depending on your group the more summoners you have the more the benfit as they are casting with 2 instead of 1, each summoner in my group averages around 8-10k per casting of FG/IC single target, AoE fights it can simply be nutty, only looked at one AoE fight with it a long time ago: I was hate tranfer for Pally MT in Lyc the group of 8 near the end... back pre EoF so FG was only 12 seconds anyways he got over 30,000 damage from FG in that fight, granted this may be a little extreme as far as one person getting crazy damage from it.

Last fight i looked at it closely for single target was a Malkonis fight a few months ago, I cast FG/IS 4 times and it did ~98k damage on Malkonis or about 24,500 per casting

However the extra benfit to the scout group if you are the only mage would be your int/str buff, the int can increase posion damage by as nice chunk and the str will add a bit more to all of the scouts melee attacks. But you also have to take into consideration the amount of dps you will lose by being placed into the scout group with out a troub or any other buffs you might have recieved from the mage based group.

Thanks for the replies, wanted to verify personal results on the parses.FG is indeed WAY > then Phoenix procsRaid force tends to be more scout oriented, now were making more casters groups, esp when the troubs are available !
