I plan on 2-boxing a healer-ish class with my zerker, but everything I've read about mystics and priests in general is that they'll only really contribute dps via melee AA's. I was hoping to use a mystic as I like the warding but it sounds like without speccing for melee you're really just gimping yourself. Is there a healer class that can be specced more as a caster to contribute some type of ranged dps? I don't want to have to worry about positioning a healer within melee range behind the target bla bla bla as it seems like it takes too much effort and attention away from the main when you can just click 1 macro button to cast a spell. Yeah I'm fairly new to eq2 (wow convert) so I may be misinformed about all this ... just figured I'd ask before I get too far into it. My Mystic is lvl 20 heh Any ideas? Thanks!

If you are hell-bent on warding, then a defiler will pull better ranged DPS and has achievement lines to increase their spell damage. However, it sounds like you are looking for a fury, their DPS is top-notch amongst priests. Another nice thing about regen's is they take less recasting then wards.A fairly general statement but hopefully it points you in the right direction.

I would suggest a fury also. But if you want to stick with a mystic you have to change your point of view on DPS. See with the number of debuffs your zerkers DPS will actually go up -- primarily STA debuffs. But debuffing takes time so a fury would be a better route to go.And depending on what you actually want to accomplish the big rage amongst the farmers is Wiz/Fury combo. You get AoE's, AE's, and healing at the same time.

I was just hoping to NOT be one of the billion people playing a fury. You think the debuffs of a mystic or a defiler would effectively contribute much to dps then? So a little dps + good debuffs = good dps?

If it's for taking your timing advancing two characters and trying to see as much content as possible then see if it works for you. Debuffs definitely make huge difference in DPS. Go and get this parser. Then do some tests in which you do debuffs and with out, and see what the difference is; If, however, you want to progress quickly then I would suggest going with the fury. Everyone's opinions vary and the best way to judge is to try different combinations and see what works for you.
