Well, always looking for a challenging alt I made a Templar. I have read up a lot on the class and its spells but one thing is not clear. What on earth does Sign of Pacification actually do ? Needless to say i have upgraded it and tried it in numerous scenarious on mobs the same level, a bit lower and low greens. Nothing, no effect whatsoever, at close range, at long range, In combat, out of combat. Oh, and all my skills are capped. Can anyone tell me what this spell does and how or when (or both) to use it.Thanks.

Yep. Obviously doesnt stop all incoming damage, but it does help reduce their damage output, especially if the mob is a melee class.

Yep, daze prevents autoattack (but not CAs) like stifle in reverse, which prevents CAs (but not auto attack)

Solo I Pull with a hex doll and use this as its running in. It it won't pound on you, much, while you put your spurn, mark, involuntary debuffs on it. In groups its used like a mez. In raids its useless - though there may be some weaker mob's it would work on there will be proffesional mezzers to take care of them if needed.

They are called sign of weakness or similar because they used to debuff the whole encounters strength. Then they made the spell into a full mez and then nerfed that to pacify.
