<p>Hi hardcore questers. </p><p>I've compiled a detailed pdf that documents all the old world missing quest starter drops. The reason is two-fold. One, is to get the devs a consolidated document of which are missing in which zones in hopes of getting them back into proper tables. Excellent work.  Perhaps we should make a regular forum post of this content and lobby to get it stickied?As a cross-check, I was working in Edgewater Drains last week.  Every quest I have yet to find in there is on your list.... so it looks like you have accurate coverage.   I was also looking for the Druid's Legacy starter in Oakmyst yesterday before reading Allakhazams/Eq2.Wikia to discover the starter was missing.  Having this list handy will save lots of time for all of us.

<p>A few quick comments: </p><p>The drop for The Eldritch Staff is "a slate grey staff".</p><p>Did not see the Feerrott quest Krok's Pot, which is started from "a rough hewn gourd" in CT on your list.</p><p>I don't recall the specifics of the Employee Hazards quest in Edgewater, but I believe the drop called "hazards report" also gave the same quest. Ask fluffy of eq2.fluffy.dk about it, I know he remembers the particulars about those 2 drops and that quest.</p><p>I don't believe the Cracked Leatherfoot Stein quest ever made it out of beta.</p>

<p>I have a few more that are missing on your list.</p><p>Commonlands:<b>a glowing orb - The Crypt of Sorrow</b>. Access quest that gives access to a small instance with the same name behind Zarvonns Tower, used to drop from the skeletons around the tower but hasn't been seen for ages. Without the drop, there is no way to get into the instance.<b>an unfinished helmet - Lion Mane Helmet</b>. Haven't seen any mention of this one since they reworked the spawns in CL sometime last year.</p><p>Wailing Caves:<b>a totem face - Ree Death Mask</b>. No reports of this dropping recently. The mob it used to drop from only pops once every 15 min or so now though.</p><p>Obelisk of Lost Souls:<b>Telanius Menonius Ledger - Warmstill</b>. Book quest that became bugged when they removed some mobs from the zone. Instead of fixing the quest, it simply stopped dropping... A better fix would be to change the required mobs.</p><p>Permafrost:<b>The Age of Destiny</b>. Book quest with the exact same story as the one from OoLS.</p><p>Also as Quester mentioned in Edgewater Drains:<b>hazards report - Employee Hazards.</b><b>employee report - Mutilated Employees.</b></p>

<p>I'm pretty sure that change was well before the CL changes.</p><p>The last date any of my journal UI users have completed the quest was on 02/16/06, which is a few months before the date I have noted for the CL changes (around May/June)</p>

This is really a big help for us quest-nuts.The books of Varsoon (2,3,4,5) are still or again dropping. My boyfriend found all of them this week in the room where the alchemist-skellie is this week.The Lion Helmet quest drop in CL might be missing. I have been hunting this for some time, the info on the dropping mob is very old and when I asked about it on forums (about a year ago), someone had looked it up on the PVP server discoveries and said that this quest was removed.BTW, it is somehow very touching that lots of you out there have been hunting these most wanted items too....<img src="/eq2/images/smilies/e8a506dc4ad763aca51bec4ca7dc8560.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

<p>You know what would rock? one of those files with a list of the dropped quest starters that are in the game still by zone. Sort of a checklist of sorts now that they drop on gray bodies. </p><p>I know you can look them up by zone on the various websites but a nice list of all the known quest starters in the game to go off would be so nice!</p>

If i remember correctly, the 2 fsr in down below only drop of one ratonga mob. The solo one that spawn in the little nook before the main room of rats. Spawns either lvl 4 or lvl 5. That's the mob i got my 2 off.

Has anyone seen a "shadow rose" (for "Fallen Lovers" ) and a "Pirate Earring" (for "Pirate Hoop" ) in Nektulos Forest recently? Since LU38 I got all quest startes in the zone except these and have been killing shadow men and pirates for a while now.

<p>Under the Enchanted Lands section, it is worth noting that without the Journal of Topper Drodo (quest starter for Grain Grog Run) that you can't do two other quests:  Menace to Berrybrook and Curse of the Bloody Shank.  To do those quests, you have to do Grain Grog Run to get offered the dialogue.  So those two quests are blocked by the lack of the earlier drop.  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> Valgrave</p>

<p>Unless I'm missing something, the PDF is wrong about Nek Forest. In the quest called "Noxious Beeswax" you should be able to pick up a note at -403, 0, -127. Upon eamining the note you get the quest. </p><p> The problem is, the note doesn't spawn anymore that I can see at that /loc, so it should be marked unless somebody recently found a way to loot it.</p>

In the pdf file it says that none of the Runnyeye zone drops are missing. But how can you be sure about that? Cause the EQ item data base doesn't give a match when looking for Horguz and The Pawn. Both are book starter drops that should drop in that zone.

<p>For "Noxious Beeswax", you just aren't able to click on it cause it's spawning inside the mushroom or tree at that loc. Just get someone to share the quest with you that's done it. That's how i got it.</p><p>I got the "The Pawn" in Runnyeye several months ago (After the PVP servers came up). So It's possible they are super rare. Has anyone seen them recently?</p><p>I also haven't seen "Shadow Rose" drop after slaughtering shadowed men. Fluffy, do you have any info on last completed of that? Pirate Earring used to always drop from Obere Warrain on that part of the scout armor quest i believe. EQ2LL has it dropping since the chest change. Whereas Shadow Rose doesn't.</p><p>For people trying to find what mobs to hunt for drops for specific drops. I might have to agree Tikku's comment from Oct 7th about the starter for "Horguz" within Runnyeye.  I just spent about the past week there completing the Filth quest series.  In between the quests during the hour delay timer - I spent the time mass killing goblins and I never got the starter.  Now I understand that I might have been just unlucky - but it something to consider that backups what others have suggested about the starter for this quest.

<p>I don't think a "broken tipped javelin" (quest starter for Rumble) in Stormhold drops anymore.  I have spent three days killing the defiled cavaliers and doing the maelstrom event each hour (for the ice storms, sand storms, etc.) and no luck.  No one else has seen it drop in there either.  Seems that after approx 50 tries on the maelstrom ring and a couple thousand cavaliers that it would have dropped.</p><p>Let me know if you've had different luck, though, and can confirm seeing it.</p><p> Valgrave</p>

<p>Trin,</p><p>Recheck station.  A Muddy Lump was discoed December '07.  It still exists!</p><p>Seems to be an extremely rare drop from Mangler (epic in Rivervale).  Even old world servers still haven't found it, but it still exists!</p>

Allthough it is not on the list, I have trouble finding "corian pinewhispers notes" in the Enchanted Lands.Has anyone seen it drop? And if so from what mob?Also still looking for the twine bound package in CL.Thanks.

Did you take in to account that a lot of the start level quests where removed from the game in one of the older LU's Mainly the ones that are in the starter citys and the main towns. This was documented in one of the LU's and heavily discussed here on the forums.

<p>Unless someone can confirm a sighting of "a plague report" in Serpent Sewers more recent than June 2007, then I think it is gone.  </p><p>I have now made 825 dungeon clearings of Serpent Sewers and not seen it.  That is approximately 100 mobs per clearing x 825 clearings = 82,500 !!!! mobs killed.</p><p> Unless someone has proof of its existence, I think that's enough to say it has been removed.  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Valgrave</p>

This is a site and journal add-on you all may enjoy:  <a href="http://eq2.fluffy.dk" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eq2.fluffy.dk</a>The database this links to has over 5000+ quests listed. You go to the website, sign up for a free account and you can login and see what you have completed, are working on, left to do etc.There is a journal mod you can load into EQ2 which allows you to update your account from within EQ2. As you complete quests, etc. Tomes and shiny collections are also included. The great thing about this database is the ability to remove zones.For instance, you are in Blackburrow you can open your journal and click "Quests in Zone", it will bring up a listing of the quests you have not started in that zone yet. When you look at the quests individually it tells you whether the quest is NPC started or Drop Started. This is not a walkthrough site but I find it extremely valuable so thought I would share. Enjoy~

I vaguely recall reading somewhere someone who works on Fluffy.dk who said they can tell when a quest is identified as started or completed with some database checking.Maybe you guys might want to get in touch with each other - as I know that fluffy.dk does strikethrough quests which have been removed (Such as the Return of the Gods quests which I missed cuz I was out *swears and curses loudly*)

I recently petitioned a gm and said I couldn't get "a small brass key with tag" to drop in Antonica and he replied that he looked into the problem and he submitted this information to customer support and told me to look at future information on patch update notes.  I'm pretty sure this means it's no longer in game.  If it was in game I'm pretty sure he would have said....   try harder it's still around.-Xarrith
