Okies,

3rd week player here, and have a few quickie questions I cant seem to find answers for, if ya`ll could help me out-

1. How do I turn off players names? (looked all over options, cant find it)

2. The foods that have a stat increase along with the out of combat regens- The regen effect is suspended durring combat I know, but, does the stat increase suspend also durring combat?

 3. Someone told me to turn off combat exp, cause it will help me in the long run with AA exp. Any advice on this? Seems odd to me to not get all the exp I can as I go. Does anyone recommend doing this?

4. I had to remap the key that toggled the equiped/sheathed weapon looks. Other than /brandish, any way to show my weapons?

5. In EQ1, if you wanted to repeat a message you would hit enter (to open the chat), and then hit Shift-UP Arrow, then enter to send... Doesnt do that in EQ2. Any way to do that in EQ2?

6. I did this quest, gave me Catalogue Creature skill. Assume later on will be more quests that I`ll need skill for, etc. But, when I`m just out and about, should I catalogue for any reason? or it realy just for certin quests?

 Thanks whomever replies

1. I think its in the display option somewhere.2. No the stats part does stay with you.3.This is an involved process and works better if you know the game abit more, basicly it involves being able to hit up as many quest as possible and still get exp/aa. If you have combat exp on you can easily out level many quest before you get them done for the aa.

3. Don't listen to them. You can get 100 AA by level 70 without disabling combat xp. It's a silly thing that I believe has migrated over from the PVP servers.4. Try hitting your melee or ranged attacks while not selecting anything.

1. it is in ur interface options, somewhere. lol

2. no , +stats are constant effects.

3. While combat XP is off, u will not gain XP thru Killing. BUT u will get XP thru questing which also builds ur APs. Most of the time peeps Level Lock to not out-level current content and to get max questage done. i would suggest lv 20 40 60 to level lock and quest. slows ur pace to Lv 70 and gives u a good overveiw of content/quests.

4. Target a WHITE (non-combatent) named NPC, then press ur Attack On key. Hold down Control and click on the weapon to see it in Dressing Room. Target urself and Attack On.

5. Hmm .. thats how I do it LOL...

6. sorry never did cataloge quests.

1. Under 'Name and Chat Bubbles' or something similar in Options.

2. Stat effect stays

3. Do what you like. The reason the person suggested it was so you don't level past an set of quests before completing them. In the long run, it doesn't matter at all.

4. Target yourself and turn on attack will take your weapon out.

5. Just up arrow while the cursor is active in teh chat line

6. Just for catalog quests

Does anyone recommend doing this?

You can get aa xp faster that way, since the only way you will level is via quest xp, collections & discovery xp if you turn off combat xp. I actually sometimes do that in lower levels so I don't outlevel quests with my alts.

When aa was first introduced it was harder to get and started at a later level so it was more necessary to lock exp for a while after that (especially if you were already 30-40 or even higher when it was added) so you could get a decent number before you were 70 and had to just grind them out.

It is quite different these days really. You can get them starting at level 10 and they are easier to get these days as well (I don't know what exactly changed, but something did, much easier on my newer characters doing the same quests and things than it was on some of my older ones). There are plenty enough quests and whatnot along the way to get you to 100 by the time you are 70 even without disabling combat xp these days.

4. The only ways I know of are the ones people've already mentioned.
