My Paladin is level 57, and I've been saving to buy raw materials for mastercrafted weapons, armor, and jewelry at level 62. I would appreciate your advice on which to have crafted. For example, should I get Xegonite Vanguard or Devout? What kinds of jewelry? Weapons? Thanks!

At KoS release, 62 mastercrafted gear was about on par with common treasured drops, so I didn't get any of it, except the imbued acrylia rings.

I liked the xegonite vanguard myself. A set of the acrylia rings won't hurt (acrylia imbued strength and acrylia imbued agility) as they buff your haste and dps mods.

Weapons, don't even bother. At 58, you should be using blade of the bixies as your 1 hander and what every you can get your hands on for your two hander(there is a good axe you can get from early on in the claymore line, if you are like me and insist upon swords, look for 2 handers around that level as well). Also, keep an eye open for the kettle leaders katana, it is a nice 2 hander that you can get from Nest.

But in short, after about 42, the MC weapons aren't worth a darn, so don't even worry about them.

honestly, MC gear is ok as a stepping stone to getting legendary from instances, but i wouldn't blow a whole bunch of money on it, you really shouldn't spend more than 4 plat on all the xeg clusers you need...you'll get better gear pretty quickly when you hit 65+ if you just run instances...the xeg gear is kinda not worth spending money on, i would even recommend trying to harvest the clusters than buy them...

if you get xeg stuff made, i personally went with the vanguard, the devout didn't really interest me that much...plus, even though the procs on the vanguard are minimal, you can't imbue devout chest or legs...

i wouldn't spend money getting earrings crafted...there are 2 collection earrings that will work pretty well for you, planar orb of the warrior from the planar orbs collection (heal on successful attack proc) and mytical orb of the healer (group heal proc on heals) from the mystical orb collection...the mystical orb earring also procs when you cast your ward, and procs often...nice little group heal and extra hate from procing a group heal...

i would get the moonstone wisdom ring and the moonstone int ring if you're going to get MC jewelry...the wis will raise your power pool and resists and the int ring with increase the damage done by your spell CAs...if you have enough laying around get a STR and STA ring too for their respective benefits...almost all the treasured t7 jewelry blows away the MC stuff so becareful how much you spend on it...i would keep an eye out for any jewelry that has really nice resists, they will make a big difference later...self buffed my divine resist is around 10200, mental around 8k and the rest right around 7k...group buffed everything borders on 8-9k and my divine around 11k...

like others have mentioned the MC weapons aren't all that great, you can also get better drops and put adornment procs on them...

hit up acadechism when yer around 60 with a group, there's some decent plate drops in there for that level range to start off with, might save you a little money

Prices vary for rares but on Everfrost:

- Xegonite is ~20G

- Moonstone is ~20-25G

- Acrylis is ~40-60G

Crafted items are fairly easy to get and act as a nice stepping stone to gear that you get in the mid to upper 60s. With prices for MC so low, it is a no brainer to get unless you are power leveling to 70 in just a short period of time.

Went with Devout MC and a mix of moonstone / acrylia jewelry across the board. Spent maybe a few plat for the entire thing which was easy to make with off various quests in TT. Devout is nice because it helps crank up the Int attr which when in an adept 3 or master offensive stance allowed my Int to be in the 400-500 range self buffed as I progressed. That translates into improved DPS which is great when so many people don't value Paladins to start with. Could have gone with Vanguard like so many other Paladins but if I wanted to play a Guardian, then I would play a Guardian. So many pallys spec'ed like guardians gives the wrong impression about what a pally can do. Unfortunate for all as the rep gets tarnished.
