View Full Version : What about Str-Stamina lines?

Hi everyone,

If you are fighting barehanded using the strength line, would using the Stamina line instead of INT be better overall pre 70 to pair with it?

Since as I recall the benefit to crits are not nearly as high with no weapons and the third slot down on Stamina gives a percent to proc additional damage at seemingly a better or at least on par rate to the crits in int.

Adding to this being the second slot in Stamina dropping the mobs own stamina(hps) might make the fight tip much more in your favor should it be a reasonable short one.

I just finished off with the end lines for Str and Int. However I am underwhelmed by this set up.

With the main good things in my opinion with INT being the increased crit for dps in slot 3 and the parry in slot 4. The end line in Int might buy you time but it doesn't seem to me to be that useful overall.

Anyone have thoughts on the benefit to Stamina and those who have used it?

Thanks very much!

Here's my take.

Str is a good line for leveling up, and if you do not have access to fabled weapons. (I assume this is why you are using the Str line.)

If you are going to use Str, then I think that you should go down the Wisdom line, all the way to crane flock. Crane flock is our single biggest DPS boosting ability. Also, crane twirl is better than mantis bolt. (The mantis star STA debuff IS a nice ability, but it's not worth giving up crane flock for.) Crane sweep is a nice ability to have as well - the multi mob knock back is nice, if not overwhelming.

All that said, if there is ANY way you can get two one handers with damage ratings around 75 or above, you should. I would then recommend going all the way down both Wis and Int. If you have good weapons, the combination of Eagle Shriek, Crane Flock and Tsunami will give you the time and the damage spike at the end of fights to take many very tough mobs down.

I have been checking out the difference in damage using the STR line versus using other lines with dual weapons (well....not dual anymore, but still 2 weapons). I have tried int/wis int/agi and agi/wis. While not in the STR line I have been using a Twin calamity and a Closing Time. (that would be a level 70 fabled and a 70 legendary with a nice proc on the Twin Calamity).

Now either I am doing something horribly wrong, or people that are stating that STR line is only better until you get fabled weapons are going off of assumption.

Here is what I have come up with during labs runs: With the weapons, in pretty much any combination of the above tried AA lines I start the zone doing around 600-800 DPS. As we move along further thru the zone and the mobs start getting to be all yellow this DPS crawls down to around 350-500.

With the STR line (so far only done this combined with the AGI line sine testing in labs, but I think I will test it with WIS next), I start the zone doing 750-1000 DPS. That is without the Chi ability. (with Chi I find the DPS closer to 850-1100). As we move deeper into the zone the DPS still crawls down, but I find it only goes down to around 500-700.

All in all, so far, I am finding that even with a Fabled and Legendary weapon, both level 70 I am still getting about 25-30% more DPS bare handed with the STR line - and even more when I use Chi.
