Hi everyone I was wondering if someone could tell me about the coercers role in EoF raid zones. I have done all the KoS ones but as far as EoF goes I have only done FTH. Mezzing is a big stress factor for me but I think I am ok at it. What I am wondering about is how much mezzing is required for the different EoF zones. A list of the mobs in the zones would be great. The problem with raiding as a coercer IMHO is that it's either too stressful or too laid back.

I do plenty on raids, but that's mostly because I'm almost always the only Coercer there. I'm generally in the MT group, where my buffs tend to come in handy the most. As far as during fights - I'm specced for thoughtsnap, and I find myself using it quite a bit if the tank loses agro momentarily. 7 seconds is more than enough time for him to get agro back for real.Stuns and daze are nice even against epics - Deep Focus lasts for 2.7 seconds which can help if the tank spikes down to orange/red. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, it DOES make a difference. For your question about mezzing though, I tend to use mez on somewhat difficult multiple mob encounters. It only lasts for 14 seconds, and unless it lands on the first shot will get broken instantly by necro/warlock AE dots. I wouldn't consider mez a big deal - you'll get very limited use out of it on raids. There are some encounters with heroics adds, but they generally come in large bunches and they're normally the first thing burned down. Sonic boom, confoundment and ego torrent are much more useful than mez against those. As int spec, I parse in the top 5 against any epic with a frequent AE (every coercer loves zyphax). Sure, it's annoying having to keep your mana below 30% for max damage, but between necro hearts and our mana spells I generally won't run out of mana anyway. It's just annoying to have to pop sprint between fights The real problem I see with coercers isn't that we don't have enough to do on a raid. It's that only ONE coercer has a lot to do. Any coercer after that is relegated to buffs and dps.

Role: Mana regen, hate transfer, decrease hate and last but not least DPS. AGI/INT speced and knowing how to manage your power, a coercer will parse towards the top of the dps parse. Get a bard or an illy to buff you with some reactives and you bounce way out there (cause we're fast casters)...... Oh.. did I forget mana regen?

Thanks for the replies. The mezzing I was thinking about was like the adds while fighting Tarinax, Gnillaw, Gnorbl and sometimes Bonesnapper.

The only encounter among those you listed where you'll actually mez is gnorbl. On all the other fights, the adds are killed first, so mez ends up hurting more than helping because it eliminates AE/encounter spells. With Gnorbl, the adds will eventually depop and you're not supposed to hit them, so mezzing is actually useful.I've only done the first floor of EH, and mez is never used. The only mob I know if with constantly spawning adds is Sarik, and you burn those down as soon as they spawn. Second floor might be different, I don't really know. That being said, confoundment, sonic boom and ego torrent are awesome on all of these fights. You can generally keep mobs pretty much locked down while the raid knocks them down.

Mindbend is also a great spell to use on heroic adds--essentially [Removed for Content] them, especially if MB is enhanced by aa

My friend told me that on the 3rd floor of EH there is a named called Treah who comes with adds that need to be mezzed

Both Coercer and Illusionist do the following for us:

Othysis (FTH) - Memwipe to prevent script start. Mezzing the adds once script starts (prevents heals once name is below 50%)

Viswin/Cheroon - Chain Stun/Stifle at 10% to prevent AoEs and Heal to allow for the burn

Stun/Stifle some encounters at start just to reduce the initial spike damge from multiple mobs.

Little to no other mezzing in FTH or MiS or CWM, not sure on New Tunaria or EH.

Hope that helps.
