Lvl'd up my coercer to lvl 14. Had the adept 3 charm, 3 points in AA charm upgrade, its still a death fest. This class plays worse than the Notre Dame football team. Can't complete virtually any quest without dying at least 3 times. Some noteable problems:

Pets dont hold aggro for crap.

/ranged pets initiate melee combat after 1 ranged strike....handy.

charm breaks, constantly. Just LOOK at something you want to fight and charm has a 25% chance to break.

No armor and no HP is not convinient when forced to fight two mobs simultaneously after your pet 2 lvls below you breaks, then resists mez, even though you have the 12% harder upgrade.

3 conc slots for total unreliablity.

Seriously, I've played a lot of games, and a lot of classes, and im not half bad at them. The pet aspects of this class are a total disaster. Enough is enough. I'm going to roll something more fun....like a stable boy.

It's pretty horrible out of the box. Here are some things I've learned from reading forums and from my "limited" personal experience. My coercer is only level23 but I've been running with disabled combat XP so I have quite a bit of playtime on it. Try to get Master of your charms.Make a macro "/pet range" and remember to hit it everytime you redo the charm.Pick wizard type pet whenever you can. You won't care whether or not your pet is holding aggro if you keep your targets rooted while both your pet and you nuke it.If you have Adept 3(or Master) of Befriend and are charming pets below level 16, compare Befriend's resistability to Charm's and use it if it's better. It may take a few more levels before Charm becomes reliable to you. From experience, I've noticed that even though I have both Coerce(level20) and Charm(level10) Mastered, Charm is still more reliable. At level23, my resist is 49% harder on Charm and 36% harder on Coerce and the difference is definitely noticeable.Just be ready to hit mezzes, roots, stuns when your charm breaks. If you're fighting mobs by using the root&nuke tactic and staying at maximum range, you usually have time to mez your pet when it breaks before your target's root needs to be refreshed. Also, don't use any DoT on rooted mob since it'll make the root break faster. A wizard type pet will be your main source of damage anyway and nukes much harder than you most of the time so you can focus on keeping the mob rooted and doing your Mind Jolt/Ego Shock HO.Melee type pets are pretty crappy. They take a lot of damage, make root break faster and don't hold aggro. When you get to level20+, if you're forced to use melee pet it helps to drop Power of Suggestion to free a concentration slot and give your pet Recklessness(+dps buff) so it can hold aggro a little better.

all I can say is your not a summoner. You have to use your charmed pet correctly and get the right pet.

BY FAR... coercer is the most challenging and most rewarding......

.... actually, been here, done this.. . enjoy the stable boy.

The real classes still start at 20+ till 20 you get a look what your class can do.Pet's are mostly for me only a help on dps, i hardly use em as tank or so.

depends vs who i'm fighting for sure.

Coercer's need a lot for prefect timing to solo well too.You said you got 3 point's in charm .. as soon as you got it to 5 start working on wis line for more subjestion that will help as much as the 3 points in the charm maybe even more.

Nice aa setup for solo is prolly:Eof Charm 5 pointsKos Manaflow 1 point and Wis 4-4-4-8 points

Yup coercer are one of the hardest and a bit of complex class to play, but the most funny and rocking one.
