Ok as I am sitting here doing the long grind on my prov writs I got to wondering something... Now I have an alchy too so this is what got me thinking about our products... and my apologies if this has been brought up before.Anyhow why is it that food/drink can be used at any lvl (i.e. a lvl 20 can use 70 food and drink and it will scale to their lvl), but potions and poisons cant be scaled?Wouldnt you think it be better for the provisioner market if the food was just like the potions and poisons? (and anything else for that matter that has a lvl requirement on it) Otherwise peeps just buy the best drink and not worry about anything in their lvl.Or more so why arent the poisons and potions like this too? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Can anyone enlighten me on why it is how it is?

Long long ago*... Potions and poisons could be used by any level and just scaled to the level of the user.  It was also back in the day when alchemists were still trying to convince the world that potions and crafted poisons were decent.  There was a wider variety of both as well, in -every- tier.  And, while you could use multiples at the same time, it was also in the days when they were 'baubles' of 7 doses per non-stacking item.  Descriptions did get on the bottles before they went to level restricted, but for quite a while there wasn't even anything more than an obscure name on the bottle to guess what it was (and no visual differentiation between poison and potion).  This was also in the days when arrows and totems weren't level restricted, though I think arrows remained unrestricted longer.(*even longer ago than LU#24 but I forget when it changed, maybe LU#13?)Personally, I would rather see potions/poisons/totems/arrows be unrestricted like food/drink.  However, then potions, poisons, and totems would have non-sense stats listed if you weren't able to get the full use of them (like food/drink and worse than they do now).

I have been playing since launch and do also remember how things used to be.My question is, WHY is it that potions and poisons as it is now dont use the same scaling system as the food/drink?This makes no sense. Domino stated in the thread that was linked to me above, that "<span class="postbody"><span style="color: #ff66ff;">I don't intend to prevent players from using higher level stuff, as it's a good alternative for when there doesn't happen to be anyone in the level range they need making food (or when there's an infestation of price gougers)</span>", and I think this would be a good reason to have the potions and poisons scale the same way food/drink does.</span>

For now, I would say because Kunark has a higher priority.
