In ages past, my guild was "Kindred Spirits", and we lived happily on the Faydark server. When the server merge occurred, we got the short end of several sharp sticks. The Befallen server already had a guild called "Kindred Spirits", which had a handful of long abandoned accounts. To this day, that guild still exists and no one has logged in for over a year... but that's beside the point and ancient history. As a guild, we decided to change our name to Spirits of Faydark in memory of our former home, and it has proven to be a good choice. We have grown considerably since the merger and gone on the bigger and better things. Our website... not so much. Our URL, the one linked to from character profiles and other placed in EQ2Players, is http://kindredspiritsfay.eq2guilds....g/. How is that for a recruiting tool.. "Just go to this website that has a goofy outdated url.."We would like to change this url the http://spiritsoffaydark.eq2guilds.org. Ideally, we'd like the link to auto-redirect to our new domain, www.spiritsoffaydark.com (not active yet), but we'll take what we can get. I was told by in-game customer service to contact "EQ2Players people on the forums", but not really given any specific instructions on who or how.So I post here. Can anyone offer some guidance on getting rid of our old crappy URL in favor of something a little more shiny?

Well, I'm sorry to hear that customer support was so poor. However, the process is fairly simple to set EQ2Players to list (and redirect to on click) your new domain.First, I believe this must be done by the GL. An officer might be able to do it, but I can't say for sure. /shrugs.Sign in to EQ2Players with the GL account. Then bring up the screen for your guild. On the right, you will see the option to "Manage a guild website". Pick that one. This will lead you to a sign in for Station Players. Just sign in the GL account again. Now you need to pick a character. Pick the toon that is flagged as the GL of the guild you wish to edit. Now you will have several menu options. You want to go to the bottom one, which is "Site Security and Design".At the next menu, pick the bottom option again: "Custom Domain".Now you will see a box with three tabs at the top. Pick the right-most tab, which is "redirect to own site".Type in the active domain you wish it to redirect to and that's it.Now everything that references your website on EQ2Players will provide a link to your new site. Provide 24 hours for it to switch over, though. I think it took a while when I did it for my guild.

Ooh... clicking Custom Domain also takes you right to a place to change the kindredspiritsfay subdomain. Double sweet.
