Hello

This is my first EQ2 char. I just hit level 30 and i need to upgrade my armor as i only have the AQ20 set, and thought i would get a crafted set. What is the best set for an SK? I am sure I have read that somewhere that most people prefer Vanguard, but it seems to me that the Devout has the stats I want. I cant see the benefit of AGI especially when we have procs from being hit, and I cant see how I can make up enough int with just a couple of pieces of jewlery. I'm also assuming the "plate" set isnt as good for us as the other two.

Any advice appreciated.

I am aware this question is probably a weekly occurence but i couldnt find an answer from my (brief) search, sorry!

Cheers

Questions like that will get you two different answers. There is two different theories when it comes to the SK community.... ask me and Ill say pile on any armour with int.. another will tell you to pile stam. It depends on what you want to do.

Best answer will give ya is to not by crafted at that level (unless have a lvl 70 to twink you.) You will out level the armour to fast to get full use out it.

Cheers, I had come to that conclusion after doing some more searching on the forum. Thanks for the input, I think you are right about not buying crafted - I did some research on the cost of a MC devout tier 4 set and it helped throw the idea out of the window.

I didn't get Mastercrafted armor for my SK until lvl 42. Get your harvesting skills up and go mine some rares. Doesn't cost anything but a little time. I'm sure there's an armorsmith that can make the armor for you for a few gold per piece. I'd go Devout, as it has all the stats an SK wants (str/sta/int) and if you get a few gem rares, make some str/sta/agi jewelry.

I preffer devout over vanguard. The stats are exactly what I'm looking for.

I used Devout set. It can get odd looks from some people, but it does have the stats I wanted.

I never tried the devout set, I was totally fine going vanguard set with sta, wis, int jewelry. It can be super expensive to buy the armor straight off the market so my advice would be to harvest or buy the rares from the market, then find an armor crafter who's leveling their skill. Cances are they'll do it for free since they get tradeskill xp for doing it since the rares can be somewhat inefficient to buy for each tier. Granted it may take a bit of legwork on your part, but hand's down that's the cheapest way to do it.
