So I am now raiding as a lvl 70 defiler and more and more now I am starting to ask myself if WIS is a better line than AGI.

I am currently specced STR/WIS and am considering going to STR /AGI for raiding.

The STR line I am taking regardless but can someone plase tell me why WIS is better than AGI for a raiding defiler.

The WIS2 +% to healing is nice but I will take 1 point in that if I respec to STR and AGI. I will have 5 points left over and so I still get to keep it.

So that leaves the increase in skills which is nice but I was landing my debuffs just fine before hand.

The main thing is the end ability in the WIS line. YEs it is nice to cast it on the templar or MT but I find myelf thinking that the +16% healing crit would help more. Also there are some fights where I am doing so much that I dont get to cast the time reducing ability on them yet I will always be using my healing crits.

I guess now that I am actually raiding I dont see how WIS is better to have over AGI, in real situations.

If someone can change my mind it would be great, thanks

I think it's one of the wis-skills that reduces our reuse timer. It might be not the usefull for the normal spells but it's great for spells / items with a quite long reuse timer. And final ability in the wis-line is just great: give it to your tank if he has trouble holding agro; give it to a DPSer to improve the group DPS; give it to an other healer to help with burst healing. Sadly we can't cast it on ourself.

Here ya go, from EQ2Flames deifler boards:

over a 4 minute period, with a 5 second cast and 15 second recast, you would cast 3 group wards per minute, at 15% heal crits, you would get 2 crits, for a total additional heal of 1010over a 4 minute period, with 8% reuse reduction, you have a 5 second cast, and 13.8 second recast, allowing you one additional group ward for 3.7kso your basically looking at a 3:1 ratio of gained heals with wis winning over easily

Here is a link to the post, you can check through the thread if ya like

Simple. Wards have no range to crit.+Crit is valuable for weapons, because almost every weapon and spell has a damage range. Not only do crits lengthen the range, but they also shift the spread towards the upper end of the spectrum.A critted ward is exactly +15% bigger. So 20% increase heal crit will increase your HpS by 3% Hardly noticable. However, consider a reduction in recast time. Our two wards are on 30 second recast timers. Cut that down to 27 seconds, and you can throw up 11% more wards than you could beforehand. Now THAT is a noticable increase in heals per second.Another thing to consider is that the rest of the agility line buffs our personal melee abilities; which is foolish, because a good 3/4ths of our personal dps comes from spells. On the other hand, the WIS line enhances our direct heals (very useful when macroed) and the miniature jesters-cap provides a great deal of utility. (I always cast it on the tank so they can get their specialty taunts back quicker) The +casting skills is fluff, but still better than getting melee crits.

since they changed the WIS line imo there is no better choice for us.. Ritual is nice when we need a big heal it's also nice to combine with our mana regen legs (Doomseer leggings)

the 8% of recast timers combined with the ring of four winds gives us 13% off our recast timers. for stuff like our group ward and our two emergency wards this is huge.

and the final ability is a great utility for the tank on pulls and in long fights with mana drains I cast it on our coercer it works wonders imo. I'll even throw it on our Swashbuckler in the last 10-15% of a fight mainly to inflate his parse =)

Actually, I had the opposite realization - I went to AGI WIS over STR WIS, heh. Not 100% sure I'm keeping it, but its worked well thus far.
