I'm new here and I wonder why almost every item in the game is either attunable or consumable except furniture. Does anyone know why this decision was made in the beginning?

When a new player gets up in housing and buys status reduction furniture or "decoration" and gets tired of it or outgrows it they can put it back up on the broker and compete with the original crafter! I've done that myself!

It seems like there's a sink for most things in the game except furniture. They only sink for furniture is old accounts that have furniture being cancelled and new accounts being activated. Is there other sinks for furniture that I'm not exposed to / seen / know of please let me know as I am extremely curious.

It just doesn't make any sense to keep the market flooded with potentially "resellable" stuff. Auto-attunement or making no-trade after purchase would prevent a non-crafter who buys a peice from reselling it when they outgrow it or change their style.

This won't keep me from enjoying making furniture and profiting at an albiet slower rate but if there's an easy fix perhaps it should be considered especially with guild halls coming in and having the potential to increase demand for furniture production. We wouldn't want everyone to just "donate" existing furniture to the guild hall.

That's been asked before, and I don't think we've ever had a Developer response to the question.

I've always wondered that myself.

Because not everyone can wear your custom tailored clothes and weapondry so they can be properly used by you but anyone can sit on your couch or eat at your table.

Aside from the realistic point of view, it may have something to do with the over twinking of alts for faster leveling. Can you imagine what would would happen if all the high toons that have multiple sets of this or that could pass them around to their alts of similar class? Especially on the exchange servers - keeps set of fabled gear for all your underlings to level them faster and remove the gear, sell the toon, rinse and repeat.

I do wish however, they would allow us to pop off our spells at the completion of betrayal of we would still have our books of knowledge for the old class in the event we decided to betray back or sell those spells in order to purchase the ones for our new class. After all, anyone can read a book with the appropriate knowledge. Making the spells a one time usage for scribing has never made sense to me.

Strange thing is the market doesnt seem to get flooded things probably dont move as quickly as if they were attuned but i dont see 4000 pillows on the market from people bying them then dumping them.

Armor and weapons you grow out of furniture you keep no matter what your level. Perhaps that is part of the thought process.

Mind you i wish house plants died when you didnt care for them it would give carpenters a consumable.

I think the main problem is that once an iteam is placed in your house it does not exsist anymore as an "Iteam" and accually is turned into something else. The reason I say this is because I currently have Frostfell Snowglobes stored in my house LOTS of them they are Tradable Lore, I have like 5 sets of them stored in my house including a set, the set the House Owner got that is set aside for next frostfell. Yet as long as I have none in my inventory I can pick any one of them up I want. People also used this to get multiple trees and other such Lore Placable iteams for houses.

::EDIT ::

to make my point clearer, as once an iteam is placed in your house it no longer is PART of your caractor it is part of the house, when you caractor picks up said iteam it would reset the Attunment. The only thing I can think of to make Furniture more disposable is to have them take damage everytime they are "Moved" meaning in and out of your inventory or placed in a Moving Crate(makes sence lorewise movers are never careful with your stuff) and after a certain number of moves the iteam is destroied.

I'm going to disagree with your theory, ke'la. You can have multiples of Lore items in your house if your alt places it because the item remembers who owns it; therefore it's still "attached" to the character.

I have 3 sets of frostfell music boxes and 2 or 3 sets of the snow globes that all went back and forth with me to Guk and back to AB. As long as I have no more than one of each on my character, in the bank, or in the vault, I can "own" more than one set.I keep accidentally picking up the same LORE legend and lore books over and over. I forget what I've picked up before and.. get another.

Unless they can make furniture non-resellable without interfering with... different players or alts sharing housing... deleted characters leaving their stuff in someone's house and the item remaining there... "professional" house decorators doing up someone else's house and then being removed from trustee access... multiple lore items being allowed to be used as decorations.... etc etc etc... it's a small price to pay.

Then again, personally I don't have my carpenter to make money, I have her as my fun crafter, scribing the books at each level is like getting a christmas gift .

The only person who can pick up the item is the owner or the item. If this is different than the house owner, the house owner also has an option to delete the item. Other than that it acts like any other item in the house. If it was owned by a deleted character the item remains. If the owner is removed from trustee list, it remains.
