Since KoS I have been down the STA summoner aa line so my tank pet could have AoE immunity. I like to solo occasionally, but I'm finding that during raids, my DPS is now falling behind that of others and I really feel like I should be doing more. Other than going for better gear, I have been thinking of doing a respec to the STR line for the spell crits to improve my DPS.AoE immunity has been very useful against those raid mobs that would require me to not use any pets if I did not have it. Even though there are certain people out there who despise a necro using the ability. So my question is, is the overall benefit of going for crits worth it? Will I making up for most of what my tank pet kicks out if I go down this line?

lol, don't get me wrong, I use my mage pet 99% of the time. Just not against certain mobs. I guess Blood Pact would be better use of my points though, but then I don't get an ooze crawler. Ever. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" /> Oh well.I'm going to assume that the build you suggested is how you're currently set up?

Ooze Crawler is nice if your raid party is short on debuffing classes.  But if you have a few of them on the raid you don't need the OC.   Sure, put some points into the mage pet in the gravecalling line.  Then don't worry about it.  Pacts will protect your pet from AOE nukes which is important in zones like Deathtoll, Labs, and most EoF raid zones.I am still on the fence regarding STR vs WIS line for dps.  STR gives you more crits (the only feature in the STR line worth a darn).  But WIS increases your pet offensive and defensive abilities (on all pets).  If you are not a strict raider then WIS might be a better option.  Currently, I am spec'd out STR 4/4/4/8 INT 4/4/4/8/1 and Pacts/Rotting all the way. 1pt in mage pet gravecalling.  I am finding, so far, that my dps is about the same as when I spec'd WIS 4/4/4/8 and INT 4/4/4/8/1.  The difference is that more of the dps output gets attributed to the pet and less to my necro.  I don't doubt that if I had a troubador in my raid (which is almost never in my guild) and a few more %crit items that a STR build would outperform a WIS build.  But right now I typically only have a max of 15% crit chance.

<p>i use to raid with my tank pet for the 10% hate transfer and AoE immunity and my parse was still 2k ..   but now the STA line sucks balls  so do STR and INT they will give you the most dmg..   and in eof pacts is nice for aoe avoid  and take rotting.   btw   grave calling offeres more dps but it's a pain to time aoe all the time and resumon pet from tiem to time.    int/ str   pacts/rotting   is the better dps set up     </p><p>ps  if your main objective isint raid dps then you can take wis line instead of int line it will help soloing.   </p>

<p>str int lifeburn and pacts, spare points in warlock resists</p><p>try as hard as you can to get 3 eof set pieces, the power reduction for abate life lets you burn much harder on the longer fights</p>
