I finally got around to running the new Kunark Expedition quest, and I was struck by the random comments of the Iksar who attacked my ship. Specifically, they seemed to be boarding and attacking Freeport vessels in search of "Deserters" and "followers of Cazic" and threatening death and destruction on those who stood between them and their prey.

It looks like they are laying the foundation lore-wise for why player run iksar will be hated in their own lands, and possibly even why player controlled Sarnak and Iksar could live hand in hand (or claw in claw).

If the Iksar in Kunark (whether they worship Sathir or Syllok) see those who left Kunark and never returned as deserters or better yet heretics to their new faith then it could explain far better than New Tunaria ever did why there will be no iksar starting city in RoK.

I'm hoping that the Faceless will get to lay some smackdown on these upstarts. Fanatical religious crusades would make RoK all the more interesting.

Aye, The iksar on Kunark follow Venril Sathir now, who himself betrayed the Iksar race by gaining Lichdom by forming a pact with Innoruuk so many years ago.

From the eyes of the Iksar player, you're still the true followers of Cazic Thule, and the iksar on Kunark are the betrayers.

I predict it's going to be just like NT.Those that left became impure or deserters and are no longer welcome, or even considered true members of the race. EDIT: And yeah, Like Cusa said they folllow Inny because they follow VS. And I can't WAIT to see VS. I owe him some more pummeling from the old days of EQ1, hehe.

I'm an Iksar worshipper of Marr, so I'm pretty sure they're all gonna hate me either way.

If you do the quest as an Iksar, the attackers' dialogue changes slightly. They say things directly to your character, calling you a traitor and telling you how they're gonna lay the smackdown on you for not being a follower of Venril.

You then proceed to remind them that they are all blue solo mobs, and blue solo mobs have no business spitting that much game.

Venril doesn't worship Inny he made a pact with Inny.

Venril worships Venril.

As for that quest, would have been much better if you could board them.

I could have taken the lot on my Monk at once, but no had to sit there and wait inbetween the Waves.

Also you think they would have made a different ship model, everyone apparantly buys there ships from the Far Seas Trading Company.

So, going on what information is available to us now, mainly from the Iksar dialog in the Expedition quest, one would have to think that all the Iksar on Kunark have turned their backs on Cazic all-together. I would have to assume that the Iksar on Kunark are probably followers of Inny, and if they're not followers on Inny, then I'd say they're probably followers on Venril. It's totally conceivable that in the past couple hundred years Venril could have become even MORE arrogant and sensing the departure of the gods he set himself up as a god-emperor.If the Iksar empire on Kunark have all turned their backs on Cazic, in favor of either Inny or Venril I'd say that they're in a good bit of trouble sometime in the near future. We all remember what happened to the Shissar when they got too uppity and forgot who their maker was don't we? Yeah that's right, most of the race suffered horrible deaths by the Greenmist and we can only assume that Cazic would be equally [Removed for Content] at the betrayal of the Iksar. If I were them I'd be keeping an eye out for large clouds of living green mist heading in their direction
