Hands up those of you who have spent the morning crafting, wearing your natty little artisan's tunic (wait for it, wait for it, I can see some of you can see where this is going), only to go out later and wonder why your mitigation is pants and you're getting killed with alarming regularity. Yes, that's right you're still wearing your tradeskill gear.

Well...it occurs to me with the new appearance slots this is only going to become more prevalent as you are not even going to have the visual prompt to help you if you are using appearance slot gear.

Senile dementure ftw!!

When I used my dps macro, which normally equips my sonnarant, it didn't budge it from the appearance slot to the regular and left me with the ugly boots covered up. I noticed a couple fights later (not that my sonnarant makes -that- much difference, but I thought to check).So... note to all, a macro that equips gear won't take it from your appearance slot to a normal slot. Hopefully that will change when they add appearance slots to the macro system.Oh... and I've gone out and fought in formal dress before.. over a year ago when I was helping my boyfriend start a new character on Guk. I didn't notice for at least an hour and he didn't say anything 'cause he thought I did it intentionally while mentoring him. *laugh*

My main is using her old crafting outfit in the appearance slots.Even still, every time I go out to kill something I stop to put my gear back on then realize I am actually wearing it

Heh.. I did that even before they put the appearance slots in the game with Ealasai. She's wearing leather armour that looks an awful lot like the tradeskill tunic if you aren't paying attention. Logged on, went to do writs, died, swore, died again, swore lots, figured it out, swore even more for being a twit.

*giggles* Sometimes I'm almost as much of a flake as Lysari is. I've also started fights still carrying that silly wooden spoon Lys wears when tradeskilling... needless to say that fight lasted even longer than normal.

Ok... So is this gonna be a dumb question? I thought the appearance slots meant that it would make you LOOK that way not affect your stats. So is it bugged? Because of course I recall the old days of wearing your crafting gear into battle.

Oh Ok .... I think Rijacki had her mining and gathering tools equiped while blasting Blades guards. Oooops.

I have one full set of armor for adventuring and one full set for crafting. I have one set of appearance armor for adventuring and then use one of the tailored dresses for appearance to craft in. This becomes my visual clue. also, I usually keep 2 strong boxes of resources in my inventory while crafting and I'm constantly checking my bags before heading out of town to make sure I dont have anything to sell ext so the mass quantities of raws in my 4th and 5th bag are generally a big clue that I need to hit the bank and click my advent equipt button.

See, Ive taken it one step farther and made Advent Equipt and TS Equipt macros, designated the last personal bank slot of each toon to their equiptment storage, so all I have to do is open the bank interface, hit the macro needed for what Im heading out to do (Advent/TS) and it automatically changes my entire outfit with one button and puts the other outfit in the bank where the new outfit came from. Works quite well, but then again, I'm OCD and would much prefer them simply giving us a few more tabs in our character inventory. Maybe the apperance tab could hold 5 sets of apperance armor rather than the paperdoll in the center and jewelry on the right then we could simply click on which apperance we wanted to wear, as well as adding a third tab for tradeskilling. Even if we currently do not have a ton of TS items, Im confidant that eventually we will have, and there is also the fact that many crafters prefer to change their gear completely to craft reducing their mana pool while maintaining strength.

/chuckle

I've done the running out to fight in a dress things on several occassions pre-LU38. Since I play in 1st person I'd not notice until someone else pointed out I was not in battle clothes =). I only changed gear for looks when I crafted pre-LU 38 so not much will change there for me, they'll just go into my appearance slots instead. Except the spoon... I might end up whacking away at something with my giant spoon since 'for looks' weapons still have to be really equipped and 2 handers are nicely hidden by cloaks hehe.

Now my hubby is a prime one for running out in his artisan tunic, Eboots and some gloves he's had since like lvl 25 that have intuition on them. lol. He's gotten started pulling on raids before people have reallized what he was wearing. I imagine it's only going to get worse whenever he decides what he's going to put in his appearance slots.

Just this morning I went kill some lions in TS that were in the way of a harvest node. It took me a while to figure out why I was nearly killed by mobs I usually don't have a problem with. Also, there's a quest in Darklight Wood where you equip a fishing pole in your weapon slot to fish hate out of The Wellspring of Nightmares. The rest of the questline doesn't involve any fighting on my part. I finished it and logged out.So I log back in later and go to kill skeletons, I think you can figure out the rest.
