Please don't spoil me with numbers from higher levels though. I like my new spells to be a bit of surprise. Anyway, onto the topic..I'm lvl 45 right now and was comparing healing spells between different classes. I noticed that druids heal by tremendously higher amounts than shamans do. I mean, the single target ward I have right now has the same cast and recast time as well as power cost as the druid heal-over-time. For Adept 1, the difference is that they heal for 1080, compared to my measly 686. Yes, they might overheal at occasions, but good timing prevents that, and it really must be rare that they would overheal 400 HP. That is a 60% increase in healing over my ward! So how come there is such a huge difference? Do they lack buffs/debuffs that make up for the difference? I'm really questioning how much better they keep people alive over my defiler. Might actually go try one out before I level my defiler too much. Please enlighten me.

Sure there is more of a reason But you are correct in that druids get little in the way of buffs for tanks and debuffs. Furies get a few minor debuffs and warden only one temporary defense buff. Thats it.

Alright, thanks! I guess that already clears that up then. The warden "knockback damage shield" seems very nice though. That one alone made my fingers tickle as I peek on the create character button!

Druid single target HoT has a 10 sec duration so it needs that 10 sec to heal for 1080 (your number). Although it has a 6 sec recast timer there is no point in recasting before. It wont heal for more. Single target ward has a recast of 6 sec also, but if its used up there is a point in recasting it after 6 sec. So the real numbers are: HoT gives 108 hp healed every sec (since recast time is before duration is over I only use duration) and Ward gives 85,75 (cast+recast). You could of course time the HoT so first tick of next HoT just hit after last HoT expired, but then HoTs arnt good for preheals, and so on. Its a lot about personal preference.

Because of the nature of how HoTs versus wards work, you are going to heal more than a warden or inq on 99% of raids/groups. Your wards take effect up front. So it makes sense that Wardens would heal for more, since in practice they heal for less... if that makes sense
