I've always been a fan of Battle Mage like classes, And have been trying to build my SK around Caster damage more then tanking, But our choice of gear at lower levels seems pretty limited. For my main armor its either +Sta/wis/intOr Str/agi/sta. Anywho i'm spec'd pretty far into Int tree, And have been experimenting with the +sta/wis/int set But dont really notice a HUGE boost in damage. But then again Neither do i notice much of a diff in str gear. But my main point is, i'm trying to figure is it worth getting the +int set at lower levels. I'd really rather not waste all my gold on 22 MC and find out i should've picked the other set.

Why does your sig have your characters from different games in it...

Personally I would suggest get anything in plate that has INT, and any jewelry with int/str. If of course you can afford to blow thru coin every 5-10 levels or so. If looking to save money, the I really wouldn't worry about spending oodles of coin on your gear, stick with hand crafted (carbonite, feyiron, etc), just make sure its up to your lvl requirements (not grey), spend your money on adepts 1 & 3s. Grind your way to gear. All of the money I've spent buying gear thru the lower levels wasn't spent wisely and could've been used alot better at the higher levels.

If you have a bit of coin to spend, buy up the rares needed to make your gear NOW. Steel, Feysteel, Cobalt, Ebon, Xegonite. At least on Butcherblock they are all at very low prices (25-40g) where they are normally 70g-1.5p. Even if you have to throw it in the bank, I would suggest buying them now for your future levels.

Just my 2cp

So Int gear it is, thanks for the help Kai

Stop wasting your time, Battlemage isn't a viable spec until T7.

Besides, its lot easier to be wearing int gear at low levels then T7.

If you are taking your time, it might be worth getting a set at that level....either type works fine though really. The difference is negligible.

If you are adventuring regularly with XP on....save your coin. You will outlevel the gear in a flash.

DPS as an SK is not about INT. Sure, you get your INT high but that's only a fraction of the equation. You need the weapons with huge delays and damage spreads and procs, this gear simply does not exist before T7. 90% of offensive procs off spells before T7 are Mage only.
