Can you computer gurus take a look at these specs and tell me if I will be able to play EQII on at least "High Quality" settings with decent FPS?

I'm currently running on a four year old upgraded system with 1 gig memory, an ATI Radeon 1650 Pro and a 450 watt PSU. EQII is virtually unplayable for me at this point in any mode other than "High Performance"... and that's when I'm not getting the "out of memory/direct X render device" error message. I'm hoping a new rig will solve some of my problems.

Also, I wonder if I could slap my Radeon 1650 Pro in the new Gateway as the second card. Can an Nvidia and a Radeon card work together?

Here are the specs. What do you guys think?

Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Edition Intel® CoreTM 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB cache)2048MB 667MHz Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2-1024MB modules)250GB 7200rpm Serial ATA II/300 hard drive w/ 8MB cacheNVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS w/ 320MB, Dual DVI-I Dual link TV Out (Factory Overclocked) w/ VGA adapterCreative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer PCI Sound CardIntel® 975X Chipset with DDR2 Support and Intel® CoreTM Duo support(3) PCI Expansion Slots, (1) PCI-E x4 Expansion Slot, (1) PCI-E x16 Expansion Slot.700-Watt Power Supply

thanks,

Morg

You most certainly will be able to play this game on "High Quality" settings, and then some, with those components. I would say 40+ fps in most instances

EQII and my four year old rig are fighting a war and EQII is winning.

After crashing twice in Zek last night I said to myself "That's IT, man....I gotta get a new rig for the RoK expansion in November."

I could have built one cheaper but I've never built one before and while I'm sure I could do it as it's not rocket science, I want to be ready to go for RoK, not calling up my one tech-savvy friend in maryland and trying to troubleshoot.

Thanks, Tebos.
