After spending quite a bit of cash I was finaly able to get the Chelsith Cloak that I wanted, only to find out that unlike the other cloaks that affect the caster, the Chelsith Cloak turns an enemy into a snake..... I was so looking forward to be able to slither around town looking like a snake.I know I shouldn't have assumed that I was gonna be able to turn into a snake just because the other cloaks affect the caster, but the Chelsith Cloak just turned utterly unattractive and useless to me. I'm not gonna go crying about a refund because I realise it was my fault for not realising this, but I do feel that it would be nice to change this item to something fun and "useful".

wow what a stupid effect. It is quite possible that they made a mistake when creating this cloak....

Well, I HOPE this is just a mistake, since a 1 minute snake illusion on an enemy (that also has quite the cast time) simply seems stupid and totaly pointless.

hmmm now I'm not familiar with this cloak at all, but....

from my experience most visual effects they usually last around 24hours.. now you say this one has a 1 minute duration... that makes me think that this cloak may have just been added to gives raiders a 1 minute laugh when fighting a difficult raid boss..

though all in all for what it takes to get this cloak they should maek it a tiny bit more worthwhile..

Hehe, uhm, even that scenario is impossible since it does not work on epic targets...

Snake totems will give you the snake look you want, and they're alot cheaper too.

well the cloak used to affect epics which was nice for helping the tank position a mob, now it is rather useless because of the cast time + short duration + now being able to be used on epics...

I am pretty sure it is a lore thing from old, old EQ1.In Qeynos, there was a guard called Guard Cheslith (I think...) he was the son of someone important who gave a quest.Anyway, Cheslith was about level 5 and as a guard he has KOS to certain mobs that would attack players. His pathing took him near several noobie snake monsters, and he would usually end up fighting one. Well, he never won as the snake was level 6. It was a good fight, but in the end Cheslith died to a snake.....many, many times.I think that is why the cloak and power is named like that.....or was it Guard Cheslin....I cannot remember.

Maybe you're thinking of Guard Chesgard in the Qeynos Hills (EQ1)? Did you know that he is now LORD Chesgard in the Tomb of Valor (EQ2)?

Actually ,when you could use this on epics, it was a REALLY cool effect. Nothing like turning a giant dragon into a tiny little snake.

But then they nerfed it, no epic useage :/

I have to admit it would have been kind of fun for it to work on epics. Can just imagine a DT run and everyone going like "Hey [Removed for Content], where did Tari go?!?!" hehe. But I would stil MUCH rather have the effect affect me, and longer than 1 minute too (sort of like the lightning hands).

My guild got such a kick out of seeing huge Tarinax being turned into a big snake. We also used it on Fear in Lyceum (helpful for positioning there) and Bloodbeast (same deal with Tarinax - just a bit of "revenge&quot. It really didn't offer any advantage other than possibly positioning, though a semi-decent raid shouldn't have to worry about that anyway. Mainly we just thought it was funny. Now it's kind of pointless.

As the cloak is now, it would make more sense to turn the effect on the wearer instead of an enemy. Kind of like the box or shrink cloak. Using on non-epic enemies just doesn't make much sense, imo.

Yeah, the cloak's effect is pretty ridiculous. What is the purpose--if any--of being able to turn an (non-epic) opponent into a snake for a minute?

All of the other cloak's from LoN shapechange the caster for twelve hours, giving the character a reason besides featherfall to wear it.

I'm hoping that this snake polymorph thing was unintended, but I'm guessing not.

Starter Deck=$9.99

Booster Pack=$2.99

Lame Chelsith Cloak=priceless (i.e. valueless)

I haven't tested this to see if it works as I don't have a chelsith cloak to test with yet, but I did think of one potential use for this item. Druids, if they spec down the agility line get a charm that only works on animals. Snakes are animals as far as I know. I'm wondering if a druid has this cloak, cast the debuff on the mob, if they could then charm them using this agility line charm. Thought of this after remembering necros had a spell that could turn anything into an undead which they could then charm, but that was in EQ1. Have any druids tested this theory?

~Curran of Antonia Bayle
