Video Card and memory upgrade

<p>I currently run a 3ghz intel pent 4 with a gig of ram and radeon x700.  (I know this is prob painfull to read)  I am considering buying another 2 gigs of ram and a new vid card. Prob a radeon x1650 or geforce 7900/8600.  Thus my question is... will i see a huge difference in performance or am i just wasting my time and should in turn just vendor this comp?</p><p>Thanks~~~</p>

Large difference,  the 3 gig processor will do ok,  the ram will help a lot of the studders you may get and the video card should help rendering out a lot.  Make sure you disable shadows as those are CPU intensive and there are some other tweaks you can do but your box should be good for at least another 1-2 years of eq2 after the upgrade.

Go for just 1GB more (to get to 2GB). With the money saved, bump the card up to an ATI 1950 level or a 7900GT.
