I just noticed there is now a globe of Norrath available from Ironforge (although it may have been there for awhile, I haven't checked for some time.) Does someone know what rank you must be to purchase this? As an envoy, my character can't buy it yet. Also, what does it look like?

I'll have to go buy one today

Thanks, Calthine! (How many times have I said that? Too many to count!!)I'll be waiting to hear what you find out. In the meantime, guess I'd better start cranking out writs...

Kiana's Factor/Ally, so I'm still not sure what rank you can get this at, lol. It's relatively new, so I'd guess Factor.

Ah, it's lovely! Thanks! I need to be an ally for this one, huh? Well, that's fair, it's pretty nice. In fact, it's just what I need to push me to attain ally faction. I've GOTTA HAVE that globe! Thanks for this very nice house item, Domino. /wipe sweat from brow /crank out another writ

I saw this on the Kelethin tradeskill merchant the other day. Thought it might be a recent addition because the only name I could read in the dressing room was "Kurnark", but then I turned my texture resolution up to maximum and saw that other places where identified too. It's a Pre-Shattering "EQLive" globe, I wonder if we'll ever get a Post-Shattering one.

This is indeed a nice item One question though, it seems to me that raising faction is a bit too hard to do at this time (tradeskill faction of course). Is this intended? Is it just me?

It is and I hope it stays that way. As with adventuring writs, the slog to get faction built up takes awhile and makes titles and goodies earned more unique. My main uses her prefix from faction with the priest guilds and I've yet to see anyone else with it (that and it suits her snotty high elf mentality). With the addition of AA prefixes, ttitles have lost some of their overall ooomph, so I hope these don't change (adventure or TS) and keep their sheen.

This item has been in the game since late June .. I happened to get the server first on Unrest on Aug 27 so I guess not many people were interested in it There are still 6 servers that have not discovered it.

Personally I raise them all (Though I admit once hitting 70 on my tradeskills, I have not ground writs, but I'll be getting back to it for that globe ). I do adventure writs in Bonemire and harvest along the way, so I have plenty of materials to do tradeskill writs when I want to. Works really well for me at least

I leveled an armorer up in aboput 3 weeks with writs and first time pristines and was ally by the time I hit 70. That was a whole lot of t-6 and below writs too, especially when I ran out of vitality. Of course it wasnt straight working on my armorer. There was harvesting and some raids/normal adventuring in there too.

She is 42 now with ~9300 faction. Considering the amount of bonus XP you get at high levels, I dont think I will hit 70 before I hit the 40k mark.Getting faction is not hard. It is easy it just takes ALOT of time. (I estimated about 24hrs of TS time to hit 40k on rush orders)

Not perhaps hard but time consuming.

Not to disrepect anyone's eating and peeing time, but a rush order writ can take 5-6 minutes each, so I bet you can get more then 4 done an hour.

With the TS Writ changes it often makes more sense to grind writs than pristines when levelling.I suspect we will see more people gaining the required faction in future.

My avg is normally close to 5min if I am focused. That is unless the RNG is hating me like it has been.

Not one of my crafters is near 10k faction (including my level 67 jeweler). Grinding in any form is just too boring. It would be nice if there were alternate ways to earn faction, such as TS quests.

OK tradeskill writs are quests, but they very boring for quests, especially to repeat. There isn't even as much variation as adventuring writs since the scenery and difficulty does not vary. Once you have done one rush order and one work order there isn't any real variety. They are better than the old tradeskill writs, but I didn't do many of those either.

Well, IMO Adventure Writs aren't that much more exciting, lol. Less travel time for TS Writs, too.
