In the past year this is the first time I've heard of a desire to make that pack accessible to anything beyond the levels it was designed for. Think I missed a few threads somewhere.

Ive seen numerous posts asking them to release the level cap. You bought it so why shouldnt you be able to use it right?

The post I'm refering to is dev post saying the entrance requirments have changed for 60 plus.

I hope this means level 70+ conent. Cant scope it out right now.

I haven't even seen level 50 on my main yet and all of my alts have enjoyed splitpaw so I guess that's where I was confused. Level 70 gnolls would be fun to witness I'll admit!
Ya once you hit 50s they stop scaling to level. 50 or 60 I forget but its basically a waste of an awsome ADV pack.

They changed it AFTER the pack had been released in ways to cap it lower than it had been. The difficulty choice stops coming up at lvl45 now on purpose, by default it used to come up for all levels so when you went over 50 you could just choose VERY HARD and get higher level mobs that would have been orange/red to a lvl50.
It would offer high end players another avenue and something to do until RoK is released. Whats hard about changing a few numbers on the cap? Oh the loot might have to be upgraded but thats the only time consuming part I see with this.

Reitemizing the loot tables is very time consuming and probably something that they won't undertake. Unless you want them to put off RoK till December.

There's something rather relaxing about doing hideout, but I don't bother with it when it doesn't give any exp.

I would care less about the general loot tables as well. There is a RAID in there which is still conned at 70 and with other XP avenues in that pack, more players might be drawn to it.

Maybe they would change Harclaves back to dropping the exquisit tables if it conned to 70. That in itself would be awesome.

I would also like to do the heroic arena and get the Gnoll illusion from there along with the few house items there which cant be done at the high levels due to "trivializing the arena".

Would love to see the caps in there raised regardless of loot modifications.

Been playing eq2 since launch and I honestly have no idea if there are any repeatable instances for a solo player outside of splitpaw. I assume there isn't since I think I would have heard of it.

Splitpaw has been the best and possibly only really worthy expansion since launch... and it was just a little adventure pack! They need more small areas that are easily accessible and playable by solo or group players for experience and loot. It's that simple.

Back when I was playing eq1, the best expansion was LDON because you got a group together, popped into a partially random dungeon, killed mobs and got POINTS to spend on whatever gear you wanted. It was a quick, often painless experience that allowed all members of a group to benefit... even for a loss I think you got some points. This should have been a MANDATORY feature of all mmorpgs since but the game devs have all ignored it.

This gives me an idea. Rather than opening up splitpaw to level 60, their next ad pack should scale to level and go from level 50-80. I miss having a place to exp with my t6+ chars when there's no group to be found (on pvp server)--and splitpaw was awesome, even if the loot wasn't very good.
I've rolled a new lizard and I'm bringing this thread back to life to see if anything has changed. Has the level cap been lifted in Splitpaw? Anyone know?

Ah necro post! IBTL.

No dude they are never going to make it 60+

What I dont understand is, if a customer buys something your selling, why wouldnt you design it so they could always use what they paid for? Just seems...... sensible. Paid for it and wanna use it. Whats wrong with that?

Splitpaw works as designed and as it was originally sold. You could not progress to 80 at the time Splitpaw came out, so maxing it at 50 was about as high as you could go at the time. It was never sold as being something for higher level characters, and the fact that higher levels now exist does not change that fact.

I am actually quite fond of Splitpaw, but I rarely find anyone else in there when I visit with an alt. I can't fault SOE for making the business decision that there is more demand from the majority of the player base to attend to other areas of the game.

(like at lvl45 it stops asking if you want normal, hard, or harder or other things) As originally done splitpaw would have allowed for people above lvl50 (not quite all the way up to lvl80 players - but definately higher than it does now). They're never going to change it though - so it's pointless to keep asking. Besides other than going through it once for nostalgia purposes most people would rather not go back to Splitpaw unless they did new quests and other things there. (like for Everfrost)

Hmm...this sounds a bit fishy to me. I assume you must be talking about some sort of game mechanic issue when you say it would have allowed higher than 50 as originally released. I don't know much about that sort of thing. However, and correct me if I'm wrong, Desert of Flames was the first expansion to allow a player to reach 60, Kingdom of Sky raised the cap to 70, and Rise of Kunark raised the cap to 80. Where Splitpaw come out in relation to these expansion? I thought it predated DOF, in which case it makes perfect sense that it would not be expected to handle characters who passed what was the level cap when it was originally released. My point to the earlier poster was simply that while it would perhaps be nice of SOE to make such a change, it's not like they have reneged on some sort of promise. They advertised it for certain levels, and those are still the levels it serves.

In a way, it's sort of like asking that any other zone be playable at more levels. Why stop with Splitpaw? It's funny how this issue is brought up with Splitpaw, but you never see anyone posting that Thundering Steppes needs to be scaled so that you can still play it for XP at level 60.

Interest is high in splitpaw I would think to do the quest for the ability to teleport there. I know I wish I had known about it before I passed 50. Came back not too long ago after a very long gap inplay and leveled up as fast as I could with new content and didn;t know you couldn't do that pack past 50. So I *have* paid for it and can't use it. I don't play alts, so it's wasted for me as is.

That ability for it to scale higher than it is now allowed to has prompted some people to ask that the cap on it be removed (the technology behind it said "set this mob +1 to player level, set this mob +2 to player level, etc." so assuming people didn't want new loot you could just remove a bit of code limiting it and it'd suddenly work for any level.) I don't care if they do change it or not, but I figured I'd just help explain why some people are asking for it for Splitpaw but not other zones.

I thinking Scaling the AP would be great or create something along the lines of how they did RE2 for the higher levels. I have played in the Splitpaw zone and they are a lot of fun and id love to be able to go back to them
