Black, flashing screen

Hello everyone, I can't figure out what is causing this problem so if someone else knows what is going on that would be awesome.I have not played EQ2 on this machine yet (I stopped a while ago) and a couple of days ago I decided that I would play a bit.  I payed $15 to reactivate my account and then installed the game and created a new Fae character in Neriak.  Great.Then as soon as a started playing, I couldn't play for longer than 5 minutes without the game crashing and telling me that it had an error creating a d3d device.  So I looked up the solution on the knowledge base and followed Sony's solution to the problem twice.  Now when I play, I can't play for any longer than 10 minutes without the screen going black and flashing from black to grey.  When it does this, I can still hear all of the sound in the game, but my monitor is flashing as if it is getting no signal from the video card.  I tried installing the drivers for my 6800GT that Sony recommends and still have had no luck fixing this.My Hardware:Pentium4 3GhZnVidia GeForce 6800GT1GB RAMIntel Springdale i865PE chipsetI am currently using the Force94.24 drivers for my video cards, they are the drivers that Sony says I should use.  However, I have also used the latest ForceWare drivers and have the same problem.  Anyone know what is happening?

Also, I just tried running the game in windowed mode to see if it would make a difference.  Again, the game only ran for about 5 minute before freezing.  However, instead of the screen going black, the game just froze and the music kept playing.  At this point my computer locked up and I had to reboot.  So it seems that my monitor is not a part of the problem.No error message is given after the game freezes.
