I'm sorry I know there are probabaly millions of posts on stats but I hate going through all the posts trying to find them. I am new to Eq2 btw. What stats are importanted to a Guardain. I assuming Str/Sta/Agi If I'm not mistaken. Are those the main stats I should be focusing on? Also if so like which one should i be focusing on more and which one should I be working on less? If you understand what I mean. Like should I be doing Str mostly and then Sta and last Agi or Str first then Agi then Sta etc. Thanks for your help all. Sorry if this was already asked.

Strength is good to maximize for power and CA damage, and Agi is finally used for avoidance...although avoidance is over-rated and I still boggle at many folks think it makes a huge difference; only mobs I can think of are avatars.

STA - HP - STR - AGI/WIS/INT

My order of priority when choosing gear.

Wis ups resists, Agi ups avoidance, Int ups proc damage, none are very valuable.

Raw HP is extremely useful.

If your sta is high enough, HP bonuses becomes much more important. Agi is quite useful. Depending on your Def relative to the def cap at your level, agi can give you more avoidance than defense.

I view int as a freebie, nice to have, but never pick gear based on it. Wis is more or less useless, and I just ignore it for the most part.

Defense and parry are always nice to get for survivability. DPS and haste procs/effects are good to have as well for aggro control and hate generation particularly if you are buckler specced. I'm not sold on very many hate procs in the game. I look at them similarly to how I view int. Nice, but don't wear crap just for the hate proc, with few exceptions. Cloak of the Vikomt springs to mind as the only real exception actually. The grim earring of night has a half decent hate proc, but mainly it's just solid stats and HP.

Resists get something of a bad rap these days. Don't overvalue them, but on certain fights, having decent resists of one kind or another make a large difference, so don't just ignore them either.

Snorm -- 70 Guard

My priority stats (in order)

STA (see a trend here?)

WIS - Resists are queen (sta is still king)

Mitigation - Each hit hurts less, makes your hit points much more effective.

STR - Power is nice but not nessicarry

Why do you guys preach HP so much? In the more difficult zones mobs hit for a minimum of at least 2k+How many +sta and +hp upgrades from your current armor would you need to make that up? Way too much...When : 250 mitigation = 1% mitigationand: ~50 agility = 1% avoid 10def = 1% avoid 10parry = 1% avoid? Some of those items you get have +7 def or parry... and two items with 25+ agility is an extra % avoid...its much easier to avoid an extra hit , upgrade wise, than it is to get enough hit points to take an extra hit...WIth Buckler spec I can MT raids at close to 70% avoidance with no EoF gear... and am at about 62% mitigation or more..this is obviously group buffed... I make sure the item i get has at least stamina, str and either agility or +parry/+defense

So def and agi add to something most raid mobs nagate. Parry and Block are the two uncontested avoid stats. They are also the hardest ones to build meaning you need to be able to take more hits.

all in all HP is the number one most important stat for any tank.

haha man its not butting in at all, i wasnt sure of everything and I'm sure everyone else, as well as me, is glad you posted.I didnt know parry was uncontested [not scalable].See i thought just block was, as its not a skill of ours at all, whereas parry is a skill... so are you sure about this? DUnno, thats just my logic thinking for meIn buckler spec, avoidance is more important than mitigation, as when you block/riposte/parry you still apply Buckler Reversal, and while it only refreshes every 30 seconds per avoid-type, thats still pretty quick.I'll definately keep that in mind though, as far parry being uncontested.

The parry skill IS contested. Parry adornments are (supposedly) NOT contested. Not the +7 Parry, those are just skill mods. I'm talking about the 2% chance to parry adornments for wrists and slashing weapons.

In addition to that, the riposte chance from the STA line is uncontested.
