<p>There are two quest starters in the Commonlands that I'm trying to find. They are the "Lion Mane Helm" and "A Lost Package". Can anyone confirm that these two quests are still in the game?</p><p> About two years ago I saw the Lion Mane Helm drop off tortured souls by Zarvonn's Tower. I've killed over 1000 of them in the past week and it hasn't dropped.</p><p> The Lost Package is supposed to drop off Dervish Cutthroats. I've only killed 100-150 of them with no luck.</p><p>I'm just trying to figure out if I'm wasting my time. </p>

Those 2 are still on my list of quests to complete in CL as well. Now with GU38 I'll be able to blow through them faster but still don't see them while I was mentoring down. This weekend, I'll be working in CL so I should be able to give you a better response by Sunday night.

As far as I can tell, ALL drop quests are still in the game. In every instance I've checked, it's been confirmed that someone has done it in the last 6 months or so (and most likely more recently, since people don't generally record they've done stuff).I haven't done either quest yet (only worked CL for a little bit). A quick check of Allakhazam's (great for the old old quests like this) indicates that the Lost Package can be dropped by any dervish. Lion's Mane Helm is "confirmed" to drop off Sandstone Giants. Combine that with you seeing it on undead near the Tower, and it's safe to assume that it could well drop off any sentient mob in that level range.

I just wish they'd get rid of or preferably change any quests that begin in the Commonlands but requires you to speak to an NPC inside Freeport to finish it up. Not fair to Qeynosians, since there's nothing like that in Antonica where you have to talk to a Qeynos NPC inside.

A bunch were removed from Everfrost in early 2005, and more from various zones were removed from what I can guestimate late 2005/early 2006. The easiest way to tell is to check SOE's item database to see if the starter has been discovered on the PVP servers. If it hasn't, it's no longer in game.

Do you have a link to this mythical database, so that I can check some drops for myself instead of always have to ask on this forum? <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />Have been looking for it, could not find it....silly silly gnome I am.

I don't, so I rely on posts like these also <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

So no, its not just Qeynosians that are affected.

<p>In response to Cusahorn:</p><p>As an evil I have about 20 quests in my journal that dropped from Qeynos zones and require you to turn them in to a Good NPC inside Qeynos. These NPCs will not talk to an evil. In one of the last two LUs these quest starters were marked as Qeynos only. </p><p>These quests are all no-trade quest drops from Qeynos noob zones (lev 1-15), quests like the FSRs (not the Antonica ones). I got them months ago before the recent quest drop changes went into place. I don't believe evils can even get the quest starters any more because of the Qeynos only value on them. I'm fairly certain that I will have these 20 completed quests in my journal for as long as I play the game.</p><p> Gorge</p>

Has anyone seen anything else then the FSR's drop from grey mobs in the CL? This seems to be the only thing I get out there.

Those firelight shrillers dropped 3 quests for me and the odd thing was a obelisk of lost souls book dropped off of the 4 shadowmen you kill to spawn the portal to the obelisk, it dropped the lyresmith book. After looking at the pdf file from another thread, i think i still have 7-8 commonlands quests left, maybe less once i check if they can be turned into as a qeynosian...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

The holey hide boots dropped for me a week or two ago, from the pirates of Gunthak, which I had been killing for the quest from the chest in the sunken boat.
