Interesting little utility I came across which I thought some of you may be interested in. It provides interesting information on how video memory on your graphics card and system is used. While playing EQ2 I can clearly see that when the game starts impersonating a slide show my card's memory is normally all in use and it starts chewing into the system memory. Even minor increases/accesses to system memory have a noticeable impact on performance.Video Memory WatcherI'm currently running 2 x 7800GT 256MB (SLI) which means I only have about 240MB available (on card) for texture caching. So far, in brief testing, I've seen combined card and system video memory at almost 400MB (make that 100% memory used; 240MB card +280MB system = 520MB total whilst running around Qeynos Harbour at Extreme settings!). I'm shortly going to upgrade to a single 8800GTS 640MB (factory overclocked), will be interesting to see the difference.Hope others find this of value.

Unfortunately this app doesn't work with Vista, because I'd like to see how much of my cards memory is being used so I can maximize its performance (eVGA 7950 GT 512mg PCI-E).Does anyone know of a way I can track this in Vista?T

The simplest way to create a new Data Collector Set is by using the wizard in Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor. Windows Vista includes several templates that focus on general system diagnosis information or collect performance data specific to server roles or applications. In addition, you can import templates created on other computers and save Data Collector Set you create for use elsewhere.

With in Vista Reliability and Performance Monitor > Data Colleector Sets, right-click on User Defined. Click New > Data Collector Set. Give it a name and choose Create manually (advanced). A collector set is created. Right-click on the newly created collector set and choose properties. Scroll down until you see Video Scheduler.

Have a nice day!

You might also want to try Rivatuner (from Guru3d.com) as i believe this can also show realtime video memory use, a new version has just come out which supports the latest nVidia drivers and pretty sure it also supports Vista.
