I was thinking about buying a new computer primarily for gaming; i play a lot of MMOs City of heroes, EQ, and EQ2 (obviously). I know CoH supports ageia physx cards i was wondering if EQ2 does? or would i be better off with an nvidia/ATI card, or maybe someone could recommend one. Money isnt much of an issue so any info would help...

ageia physx cards are a waste of money..the 8800 graphics cards do all that stuff and ageia only supports like 10 games use that money to buy a good soundcard or stereo system or something

Thats some testing I would like to see some numbers on between the 8800 and the hd2900 cards.   I'm running 8800 GTS 640mb on a 24" LCD 1920x1200 custom video settings somewhere in the high quality preset range with some of my own tweaks.   I get 45-50fps in most zones with 30 ish in QH.       Also like to see how two crossfire hd2900 cards do vs two 8800 in SLI   (would have to be XP since SLI tanks in Vista atm)

The PhysX engine is not supported in EQ2.  EQ2 does not use realistically modeled physics like CoV / CoH.To the above poster ... from all comparisons and reviews that I've read, the 8800GTS 640 is THE best bang for your buck on the market right now.
