I love love love LOVE the new appearance tab. <3 <3 <3 LOVE IT! <3 <3 <3

However, it's a bummer that all the cool tailored no-stat clothing (i.e. the sexy dresses for females and peasanty-looking pants outfits for guys) all have the exact same appearance, with just differences in color.

With the new impending skeletal re-vamp, I'd LOVE to see some new designs for tailor-made appearance clothing.

Here are some ideas:

* Racially influenced costumes/outfits: i.e. gnomes could have some sort of crazy mechinized looking outfit; halflings could have some green/brown farmer type clothes; woodelves could have some very Tunare-inspired nature stuff...these could be tailored by crafters who maybe went through a series of quests to learn about the various races and their traditions...OR...they could be racially-specific tailoring recipes.

* Class influenced outfits w/o stats: neat looking robes with great patterns for casters; gis of various colors for brawlers; plate sets of various colors for plate-wearers, etc. (Okay, obviously the plate and chain recipes could be given to armorers instead of tailors).

* Cloth outfits similar to what already exists, but with mix and match capability - let us pick a skirt or pants of a different set, or different shoes (and for crying out loud, please give females the opportunity to wear shoes with their fancy dresses...unless you're a halfling, it just looks like you're half-dressed).

* ??? Any other ideas?

I'd just love to see some options that were, well, new and different!

Thanks!

I totally agree 100% I have seen so many (as you can check out alot of clothing at the Den Mothers website) clothing items that ALL look the same but diff colors and that is such a huge disappointment =( I browser the broker alot looking for items to wear, and each time I see a dress (or even armor!) it all looks the same except the color variations. Which the color variations are cool to an extent - just not enough.Something I would love to see done is what Guild Wars did... before anyone flames me for that comment I am not suggesting mimicking the Guild Wars clothing lines. But anyone who has played that game can SEE a noticeable difference in each class's clothing line. Another good example is Lineage 2. Amazing clothing options there as well. (am talking both fluff clothes and armor here)I get the engines might be different, and I get that it might take a while to accomplish - though at least knowing they care about this aspect of the game and will improve upon it would be at least sufficient enough I think to alot of people who are concerned with the monotony of the apparel line.

Your ideas, while I agree would be great, are more for the Look & Feel section.

Domino doesn't do Art work. She can tweak existing stuff but she can't create complete new outfits.

And, it won't happen at least till the Skeleton Revamp is finished, anyway.

Though, if the Art Team does make any racial outfits .. I would so love that they give them to Crafting instead of via Adventuring.

Crafters seldom get anything completely "new". We're due for some Art Loving!

You are spot on on the section to place this in OP ... it belongs in TS since you are asking for recipes and it would effect TS, though it might not be a bad idea to post it in the look and feel AS WELL since not all advent venture into these threads.

I would like to see clothing that looks different from each other. Im sorry but using the exact same dress that has been dyed a different color is not my idea of variety. The outfits on the city merchant are the only other variations we have ... wow ... other than robes and other armor that limits us to 3 whole dresses. Come on art department ... please?

I would like to see it as a racial-specific thing. From the descriptions on the various races we find for instance this information on armor and clothing:

Feir'Dal: They prefer cloth and hide for clothing, but have been known to don light chain or scale mail of rare metals. They also make a rare type of symbiotic living armor. I think this would be very cool for me as a wood elf tailor to make! How about symbiotic armor (by wood elves, for wood elves) - cloth or leather style - with a special bonus that comes from this symbiosis (very high disease mitigation, for instance, or health regeneration...)

Iksar: The iksar seem dressed for battle on every occasion, their armor dark to aid them in movements through the night and shadows. I think it used to read something about prefering lighter armor because of their scaled skin, but it's not there now. If my memory serves me, then this armor could perhaps be of cloth, but with heavy duty stats

Teir'Dal: Dark elves often don garb that is both alluring and functional for combat or special ceremonies. Much of their armor is highly ornate, with details illustrating the history of their race or family house.

Dwarves: dwarven armor and weaponry is well known for its high quality and durability; it is often etched with extravagant designs and runes. How about dwarven armor (I'm thinking medium or heavy, as they are master smiths) that don't take as much damage from deaths as regular armor? Maybe only 4/5 the wear of normal armor?

Koada'Dal: Of all the races save the Erudites, the high elves wear the finest cloth apparel on Norrath. They have access to rare threads and even rarer tailoring talents. Their armor is always in pristine condition; the metal used to craft this fine armor is usually unexpectedly light, while still retaining strength and durability. Here you could have both cloth, chain and plate armor specialties. Plate armor with less weight and more durability (less damage from deaths).

That would be something, wouldn't it, all the while making sure the graphics matched the racial arts. Of course you could go all Appearance too, it would still be very fun to make racial only appearance clothing. And I say they should be quested recipes. Train from a master tailor/armorer of your race.

Stiched by,Zuiya Silverfern
