Hello,I have a level 20 monk that I plan on only soloing with, and would like a bit of help please.First, by way of comparison, what sort of monsters should I be able to solo? I can currently take on any Yellow monsters with no problem, with green solo ^^^ heroics being just outside my abilities. Is this considered reasonable?I am currently working on maximizing my AGI AA line - good choice? And should a solo character use any particular gear to help things going?

As you get higher in level, soloing will become much easier. My husband and I frequently duo with our two monks (with me mentoring). We can take on green and blue con heroic mobs easily; even con heroics present a challenge, but we win more often than we lose; and we haven't tempted fate with yellow or higher heroic mobs. The great thing as you get to be higher level - the thing that will save your monkly butt - is feign death. It's really helpful when fighting a group of multiple mobs. You can feign in the middle of the fight, lay there and regenerate health, and then pop up and fight the next mob and so on and so forth. At level 20, however, probably heroics will be out of your range unless you spend the money and get yourself the best gear possible and master abilities. I'd recommend just levelling on non-heroic stuff rather than spending your hard-earned plat. Wait until your levelling slows down a bit (40s and higher) and then sink some money into gear and abilities beyond treasured and adept I. Carry spirit totems of the wolf, and winged viper (I think that's the level 20 power totem), and whichever totem it is that helps with out-of-combat power regen. You can put your totems on your hotbar and use them right from your bags. They'll help a LOT by reducing your downtime...and wolf totems help with reducing your travel time. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Find Regeneration potions and keep those hot-keyed. You can only use them once ever 2 1/2 minutes or so, but they can save your hide in a tough fight. Personally, I've gone with the STR and STA lines for my AA, but AGI is a good choice, too. For your gear - focus on STA (for extra hitpoints) and AGI (for extra avoidance) and STR (for extra damage). Try to round out these stats as much as you can as you level. I used to focus on STR only - but I've discovered that striking a balance between these three stats makes for a very nicely-rounded monk. If you have some money and can buy Master or Adept III abilities, try to get the ones that stun or stifle your opponent before you get other abilities. Buy player-made throwing weapons - the damage difference between the player-made stuff and the vendor-bought stuff is HUGE!! And, of course, most importantly - have fun! Soloing with a monk is a blast!!!

I think the best way to go, ESPECIALLY for soloing (since agility benefits the most if you're raiding, or if you duo a lot with someone to put the feign death to use) is to go Str/Int lines (at least until you hit 70). I'd go with the int line first, go all the way down until you can get the final ability (and put 8 points into the crits), and then after that start working on the Strength line. Once you get to 4-4-8, you should make the switch to unarmed. And that setup should take you all the way to 70, when you'll want to find fabled weapons and start raiding =)

For soloing you need dps. Str line gives you the most noticeable increase in dps once you get to 4-4-8. Besides the money that you save on weapons can be used to buy a nice imbued mastercraft BP and imbued stamina ring. Both gives you hp regen when you get hit. For even con and below solo mobs, my level 22 monk usually ends the fight with full hp.  At the moment, no problem taking down ^^^ heroic 4 levels below with mostly treasured gears and app4.
