I currently have 2 sticks of gigaram 512MB 184 Pin DDR SD RAM DDR 400 (PC 3200). I've decided to upgrade the ram on this pc but have ran into a dandy little problem. They dont make the identical RAM anymore! My question thus is this.. Since i have 2 slots left for ram can i get away with sticking in 2 sticks of corsair or is something else more compatable? Or do I need to scrap the gigaram completely if i cant find more of the same RAM?

here is a link to what i plan on getting...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ription=pc+3200

ty

general rule of thumb is you should be fine as long as you match the timings, cas latency etc. Always best though to buy a matched set.

if you look closer on newegg.com, you will find that they do indeed sell "matched pairs" for ram, and while they may not be in the exact size you are looking for, you can always get a higher ammount that is still a "matched pair". give that a shot.
