How do I swap primary weapons and keep my off hand free? (Post LU38)

<p>I am WIS specced and usually have a shadow axe equipped.  When I use Inspiration or CoB is called, I like to switch out to a faster weapon while auto-attacking.</p><p>Ideally I like to do this by macro and have one setup to equip my fast weapon, then execute Inspiration.  Then I have my shadowaxe hot-keyed and click it to put it back on.</p><p>When I used my macro last night, it stuck my fast weapon in my secondary slot and kept my shadowaxe in the first.  Not good.  I was able to open my inventory, click the shadowaxe to remove it, then drag the fast weapon to the primary slot and then close the inv. window.  Not a good move while raiding!</p><p>I made sure in my macro that I am trying to equip my fast weapon in the right hand, but it seemed to ignore that.</p><p>Someone in my raid group suggested using the /unequip secondary command at the beginning of the macro.  That didn't work.</p><p>I tried /unequip primary at the beginning of the macro, thinking that would remove the shadowaxe and then when I equipped the fast weapon, it would go into the primary slot.  That didn't work either.  I think I might have gotten that wait 2 seconds before equipping weapon in combat message.</p><p>How do I swap primary weapons now to use one handed?  A macro would be ideal, but I can handle a more manual solution with weapons hotkeyed.  I just don't want to waste time with the inv window and my bag windows open dragging and dropping things.</p>

It should just equip the item, not evaluate what you're currently holding.</p>

It should just equip the item, not evaluate what you're currently holding.</p></blockquote><p>Thanks.  I think I will "bug" it.  It just isn't right.  I will try to put that /unequip primary or 0 or whatever before my equip action in my macro, but I am afraid I will run into that 2 second rule.  Another thing I might try is to make a macro just to unequip, then I can use my hotkeyed weapons and maybe use that Inspiration macro that equips the fast weapon and then evokes the CA.</p><p>The thing that is weird is I don't think it does that with jewelry.  If you say you want the earring to go on the left ear, daggone it, that's where it goes, even if the right ear is empty.</p>

<p>There is only one way to do this, but unfortunately, if you're in combat, you have a forced delay between weapons.</p><p>This is how you would do it. Make a macro,</p><p>First line, type: /unequip Primary</p><p>second line: Make an equip command that equips the weapon you want to your primary hand.</p><p>Problem with this is there's a 2 second delay between unequiping and requipping if you're in combat.</p>

<p>I just tried</p><p>/unequip primary</p><p>and then the drag and drop of the weapon that I wanted.</p><p>It worked fine unless I am in combat, then I got the 2 second delay, which is unacceptable.</p>

Has anyone found an acceptable way around this?  It's rather stinky to have to wait 2 or 3 seconds to swap weapons out so I can equip RHOTHP for Inspiration, then wait another 2 or 3 seconds to re-equip DoN.

<p>Yeah, this is a big pain.   My macro equips the RHOTHP as a DW now, and I have to manually hit "I" and click unequip to remove it after inspiration is done.    I previously used it in primary with inspiration, then returned to soulfire weapon right afterwards.    I  am agi/wis build.   So, it's hard to tell from parses so far but:</p><p> 1.    I am assuming that inspiration procs off both weapons in a DW.    I can't tell exactly how much dps I'm losing from using both SF sabre and RHOTHP with inspiration is up, rather than just RHOTHP in primary.    In labs, it seemed to work pretty well  (encounter was around 3000- 3300 dps on the larger groups, 2500-2800 on singles and doubles).   I may have been losing 10-20% of burst dps during inspiration.   In EH last night on mostly singles, I had lousy buffs (no dirge in group) and was missing a lot, so i couldn't really tell.   </p><p>2.   Has anyone received any response from a petition on this???   Thanks.</p>
