I have a really bad memory for names and often don't bother to put peoples on ignore list. But it would be nice if one could have some sort of notebook. So how about if we could ...Right click on a toon, choose add note. Now we could type some memory notes. And the next time we hover the pointer on a toon we see the notes?

Wouldn't this be nice?

/Hugs Tash

If you don't bother with the ignore list why would you bother with a "make a note" list? BTW, if you did bother with the ignore list you could use the note function there to make a note of why you added them to the list. Same goes for the friends list. Admittedly this does not make a note pop up when hovering your pointer, but still it is notes against names./hugs Oakleafe

Some reasons come to mind.- One cant run round add every player that act odd to the ignore list. Like some pally that was great all the run and happens to loot a no trade cloth piece from end mob. As this just an accident or would that happen again. A note on that playe would help me to remember.Or a player drops in the middle of a instance. Was that a one time event or would it happen again.- I cant add every nice player I run into to my friends list. That would be hundreds of players. My friends list is for my friends not for everyone.- When I find a nice crafter that have a good price. Not that I would have him/her added to a friend list for that.- Could be nice to tag peoples that are on the same questlines as oneself. - Always nice to ad a line if I get a gift or happens to need to loan or lend money to someone.

There is loads of possibilities especially in guilds where one might want to have personal notes on different players as a remainder.

So I still feel the system as it is today would benefit from a few minor adjustments such as this.

/Hugs Tash

I can see what you are getting at now, and can see the benefits (in fact I use pen and paper for a very similar reason), but I can't help thinking that it would a performance nightmare. Every player you encounter would have to be referenced against your list and every player would be referencing you, and everyone else, against their list. Lag is bad enough in busy zones without adding an extra layer of processing to the mix. I think this is a fine idea but can't see it being introduced, just for performance reasons.

That actually sounds like a great idea, and if they made the reference local, it wouldn't be a strain.

Every time you right click a player (or even a right click option of the name in the chat box), it will attempt to find a notefile_playername file in your EQ2 directory. If none exists, the option would be "add note about player" which could create the file, otherwise the option would be "read notes about player" and it would open the file contents.

Notes don't have to be bad.

Notes could be of various nature:-birthday is on so-and-so day-is currently willing to donate his left leg for x master spell-has a daughter who is in the hospital, follow up!-doesn't know how to maintain aggro-has a tendency to afk...a lot!-has a standing offer of x plat for y item-promised me the next time we grouped he'd do so and soIf you are a highly social player, it would allow you to keep better track of things that are important to them and/or yourself.

You could always have a file on your computer that you can keep track of stuff like that.. a spreadsheet would work best, or just any program that can sort alphabetically. Just put their first name and a note next to it and sort it alphabetically for easy reference.
