And my friend and I are too low to make either a leader so what can we do? We don't want to leave the guild because we have put a good bit of work into it but the original leader didn't even say goodbye. It is an odd situation. Please, any help and/or advice would be welcome.

Peace,

Zargalog

Send a /petition and CSR's can help with this.

I believe there is an option dealing with guilds saying the Guild Leader has dissappeared. You may have to provide proof saying what your guild leader's name was and when they dissappeared. Just hope that your GB is ok bud since there are some things that might have happened. Your GL could have taken off and robbed your guildbank or had his/her account hacked.

Yea, I hope she is okay also. It was very strange. One week she created the guild, we didn't see her for a while then she was gone just like that. The one other member of the guild is now petitioning. Thanks for the suggestions!

Peace

This happened to us a while ago. Our GL upped and left the game without a word, leaving us with a couple of senior officers and a handful of officers to run the second biggest guild on the server. Thankfully, we could still recruit and kick people and we could manage the GB, but we couldn't change any settings or access other GL functions. We petitioned and nominated a senior officer to take over as GL, but we had to wait 3 months "just in case he returned". Once the 3 months was up we got our new GL and quickly made a couple of other trusted officers up to GL status so that we wouldn't end up in the same situation again.

About a week after that, the old GL returned!!

I was also dual leader/founder of a guild, the other leader had been on a 6 month AFK, so I took the decision to promote one of the senior officers to be a leader and coming back to the game in April I was proud to see the guild I had created had been very successful and was almost 60. The other leader had left shortly after I had so the rash promotion was a good move. I have joined again with an alt, but only as one of the rank and file.

BTW My returning reception was more than warm.

This is also a good reason to have atleast two players with the top leadership Rank, eventhough one is designated second in comand overall that way if the Guild Leader has to leave without giving notice, and I can think of alot of reasons that would happen. You still have 1 player with full leadership Rank that can move the absent leader to a Reserves Rank and who can then promote a new second.

After that we have several members that are in the next highest tier so they have access to recruiting, and most bank functions. The only bank that is off limits is GB4 where we store all of our coin/prizes. Those items go towards outfitting the guild and paying for upgrades to the guild such as cloaks.
