Yesterday morning was cruising aroung the outside of Obelisk if Lost Souls with my necro trying to complete the access quest to regain entry to the interior. Level 43 makes it both fairly interesting and quite rewarding if the exquisite chests begin to drop (which they weren't). Anyway...zoned in and found there were 5 others in-zone....all one word unpronouncable names, all around level 45 and all "roleplaying". Found them running around the circuit, Fury in the lead and a bunch of 4 wizzies following on behind.

Fortunately they seemed to be getting caught up preiodically with the roaming nightbloods so I was able to sit on a couple of spawn points and take the kills. Eventually I got a bit tired of having to keep one step ahead of them so I zoned out.

Returned later that evening and guess what....there they were standing around in a clump. Pulled up a group for myself, a 46 necro and a 45 monk and started running the circuit. Half way around the other group woke up and started off too. In half an hour we got 3 exquisite chests, a legendary chest and completed the access quest. We were so made up we couldn't even be bothered to petition the botters who were still getting hooked up by the roamers.

Pah! Botters?...Who cares!

Bah! Not what I was expecting to read on a thread with such a cushy title

Although an entertaining anecdotal story on your behalf, the 1000s of other players affected by bots and PSF's (Plat Selling Farmers) do not have that luck in overland zones such as PoF and Barren.

I was expecting to read some great insider news about a new Uber weapon that reaches out of the monitor and throttles these guys whenever they clear a zone ruining it for legit players.

Ah well, can dream....

I feared those stupid weird alphabet characters would continously allow the plat sellers to bypass it. However when they further refined it allowing for the inclusion of those characters in the scanning process all messages stopped. So that's 1 for us

Mail filter went in soon after the PM filter and now all messages from plat sellers have stopped. I haven't received one in quite some time. Chalk up another 1 for us

Players are more diligent now and some player's faith has been renewed in SoE because of the filter. I see alot less plat farming groups than I used to. They are mostly huddled around OOLS, Isle of Aversion, and smaller various zones on Kithicor. The more these people are reported the quicker we can boot them out of the game.

These people are quickly coming to the realization that we don't want their kind in our game. They are disruptive, annoying and unpleasent to be around. Once their kind has been eliminated from the game some of us can go back to having fun.

The filtering has been amazing...I would'nt have expected it to work as well as it has...but wow. They're catching them all. Sometimes I have to enable spam tells just to verify that the RMT'ers are still alive and kicking. Haha!

Players need to keep the pressure on them. Report/petition suspected botters. Don't buy plat, inform your guildies and friends not to buy plat.

Hehe.
