Anti-Aliasing STOPPED Working, HELP!

I'm getting sick of this, it was working fine 2 weeks ago and when I came back from vacation I logged into EQ2 and find that AA stopped working.AMD x2 4600+2Gb RAMATi X1950XTCatalyst A.I is off and r_aa_blit 1 is in eq2.iniMy only guess is that after the latest patch it stopped working. Other than that nothing has changed on my computer. Even rebooted to see if that would help.This isn't the first time it has happened too. The last time it happened I switched out to my 7900GT and switched back to my X1950XT and anti-aliasing on my ATi card worked again. Obviously I'm not going to switch out my video cards everytime I want to play EQ2.Maybe instead of adding useless things like a stupid card game, SOE should FIX bugs/problems instead.Anyone else have any suggestions?

Upon further investigation it seems that AA works only in resolutions LOWER than my monitor's max native resolution (which is 1440x900).Which confuses me even more.

did you probably install the new 7.9 driver?on my HD2600XT the 7.9 runs much much smoother in EQ2 (even i cannot say why this should be as my CPU is lowering the fps but ok), but at AA im now having white lines around my character that i did not had with 7.8is AF working or also not?

Not sure if AF is working or not, hard to tell to be honest.And I see the 7.9 drivers just came out yesterday. I'll give those a shot.

hmm especially in eq2 i find it very easy to see if AF is working. At least for me things being a bit away (even my own char on max zoom) seem very unsharp without AF

Just as I thought, no difference.I doubt it's anything to do with ATi since AA & AF actually WORKS, as long as I'm using a resolution that's lower than 1440x900.There's gotta be something in the EQ2 program files that's telling EQ2 to turn AA & AF off as soon as I switch my resolution up to 1440x900.

I can't help you fix your problem but I can add that I run the game at 1440x900 without any AA problems. I would suggest contacting Tech Support directly if you've run out of all possible options to pursue. Best of luck to you.Oh, and the "Figures" comment probably wasn't the best way to solicit responses.

It's become so fustrating.Which video card do you have btw?

I understand about the comment but it could be seen in a negative way from others who might otherwise be willing to help.At any rate, I'm running an Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT on 3 different systems. I had recently replaced my ATI 9600 Pro cards, which ran AA without a hitch for nearly 2 1/2 years, some of that time at 1440x900 as well.Again, sorry I can't offer you much help here as I would prefer to see you get this fixed than not. Hopefully someone else will come along with more knowledge on the subject. Best of luck either way though.

Best of luck either way though.</blockquote>Yeah I was running a 7900GT before and it worked fine, but it overheated (long story) and started giving me graphical corruption. So I bought an X1950XT instead. Should've just gotten a 7950GT.
